@Zach Burger Hello Zach! I m more on the 3ds max/unreal engine side of things.
When did you put out your first track
Hi everyone, I'm curious, when did you release your first finished track, was it after a few tries producing music or did it take you years?

As soon as I had composed my first track I released it.. I did share it to get some feedback. I was not afraid of beeing not good enough... or getting hard feedback. I just was curious how others feel about my music. That helped me a lot and since then I produce and publish it...
šŸŽÆ The Earworm Challenge is here! šŸŽÆ
Hey beautiful people! Think you can write a theme that sticks? Your mission: šŸ‘“ First of all, read carefully 🧠 Compose an orchestral main theme (can be less but max. 60 sec) that stays in our heads all day long! Style is totally up to you—epic, quirky, emotional, you name it. Just make sure it's unforgettable. šŸ’„ This time, YOU will be the judge. We’ll vote for the most addictive theme together—the entry with the most likes wins! šŸ† Winner gets: - 1 MONTH free access to the Audio Artist Rise Program and all courses - A 90-minute 1:1 personal call with me to dive deep into anything you need—career, music, strategy, mindset, you name it. - If you are a Riser already, we make it two 1:1 calls :) šŸ“… Deadline: Sunday, 6th of July šŸ“ Post your entry as a comment TO THIS POST. Do NOT open a new post! ā±ļø After the deadline there will be 3 days of voting time. The track with the most likes on Thursday morning (CET), 10th of July, wins! šŸ“ŗ After the winner is selected, we’ll host a free Zoom session to review all submitted tracks and discuss what made them work—or not. The replay will be publicly available. Let the hooks begin. Let’s see who creates the melody that haunts us (in the best way).

Rootbound Scoring Contest
Hey everyone! We’re launching the Rootbound Trailer Scoring Competition—a great chance to score a real game trailer for an upcoming indie title. Brainlag Games is a newly founded studio with former Piranha Bytes members mostly known for Risen and Gothic. Rootbound is a pixel-art fantasy adventure with action, puzzles and exploration parts. The developers have been kind enough to share their trailer with us, giving composers the opportunity to bring it to life with original music. There is a lot of room for playing around with different moods and music styles. If you like you can also add your own sound effects to the trailer. Prizes are sponsored by Fluffy Audio, with the grand prize being their stunning Echoes of the Earth library—an incredible tool for composers looking to expand their sound. If you’re looking for a fun challenge, a way to build your portfolio, or just an excuse to create something new, I’d love for you to join in! Full details and submission info here: https://www.marikaschanz.com/rootboundscoringcontest and you can find our video on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k44WiV9vbPA&feature=youtu.be The Trailer can also be used for your portfolio you don't have to enter the contest. You will find the download link on the website. best Marika

@Dag Ove Vareberg yes that's correct!

@Carlo Filingeri That’s a completely fair point, and I totally understand the concern. In a typical work-for-hire situation, composers are paid for their work, but this is a competition, not a commissioned project. The Rootbound Scoring Competition is meant to be an opportunity for composers to challenge themselves, build their portfolio, and gain exposure in a creative way. The entry fee helps cover the costs of running the competition, such as web hosting, submission management, and the time spent carefully evaluating each entry. That said, there’s no obligation to enter—if this competition isn’t the right fit, that’s totally okay!
The Video Game Music Loop Challenge
Hey everyone, if you are interested to find work in the video game industry, the music writing process is a bit of a different one compared to all the other industries. One of the most important skills is to create music that loops perfectly. ... and here we go with our next challenge. The Video Game Loop Challenge! šŸŽ® 1. Find the picture attached to this post 2. Write a 60-90 sec loop that is fitting the scenery 3. Only focus on the music itself, no sound design, no additional voiceovers etc. 4. The file should be attached to a comment on THIS thread. I would need to be able to download to check it in a DAW or an audio player. Requirement: The audio loop has to loop seemlessly when playing back and perfectly fit the scenery. There should be no glitch, no pause, no hicup or any other sort of distracting stuff going on at the transition point. The winner will be drawn at the end of January 2025. Prize will be lifetime access to my video games course and one month free access to the Audio Artist Rise Program. Have fun!
