Building on the ideas, energy, and shared commitment in the room, we are moving forward with a Community AI 101 Workshop, a practical, accessible introductory session designed to help community members understand what AI is, how it works at a basic level, and how to confidently use free AI tools and resources available to them. This effort focuses on giving back, closing access gaps in technology, and empowering underserved communities with knowledge that creates real opportunities. 📣 All Hands on Deck: To make this event meaningful, we need the full support of our Latino Startup community to promote, spread the word, and encourage attendance. The more voices that share this, the greater our collective impact. 📅 Event Details – In Progress - Date: TBD (targeting February 7, pending coordination and booking with HQ) - Time: TBD 11:00 AM–1:00 PM - Location: Latino Startup HQ (confirmation pending) - Format: 90-minute core AI 101 session within a 2-hour block to allow for discussion, questions, and community connection Why this matters: - We are creating a welcoming, judgment-free space for community members who may be new to AI. - We are breaking down complex technology topics into clear, practical guidance with real-life examples. - We are helping people access free AI tools and resources they may not know exist or feel comfortable using. - We are showing what community-led leadership in tech and innovation looks like in action. Several members have already stepped up to help shape the workshop. This is a great opportunity for even more of us to contribute by facilitating, promoting, or simply showing up and bringing others. I just joined, did the onboarding call, and wanted to introduce myself.
