Truck driver turned novice founder — building the tool I wish I had
Hey everyone — Armando here (agbexar), solo founder based out of Nevada. Glad to be in the room. Quick truth up front: I’m a truck driver. I’m also a complete novice when it comes to building software. Everything I’ve built so far has come from my own pain points on the road — and from partnering with Claude (Anthropic’s AI) to turn those pain points into real products. I’m building Giga-Sphere OS — a compliance and financial-ops platform for gig workers and the companies that work with them. The mantra I’m building around, for myself and every other 1099 contractor out there: Profit. Protect. Retire. First product is Giga-Books — a tax and expense tracker built specifically for 1099 folks (rideshare, delivery, trucking). I run the personal version in production every day. Every mile, every receipt, every edge case I hit on the road is teaching the public version what it needs to be before launch. In parallel, I’m heads-down building a dynamic, intuitive chatbot — stage one of a customizable fleet management platform. A trucking/expediting partner I drive with is in active conversations to be the first paying client. I’m here to learn from founders who’ve walked this road, and to share what I’ve figured out along the way. Gracias for having me.

Welcome @Armando Galvan-Holbrook . It's always great to meet people who have worked in the trucking industry. I had the privilege to work on tech in trucking during my time at Platform Science, and it taught me lots of appreciation for the work truck drivers do in our country. @Aimee Flores is also in the trucking industry and I'm sure would love to connect as well. I see your product would benefit all types of business owners, that's pretty awesome.

NSF Tech Access AI Ready America
https://www.nsf.gov/funding/initiatives/ai-ready https://www.nsf.gov/funding/opportunities/techaccess-ai-ready-america I think I mentioned this to a few on you last Thursday, but there's a funding opportunity for organizations that potentially have the ability to help businesses and the community learn AI. I feel like we have so many AI experts now in the Latino Startup, that it's worth taking a look. I'll be attending their Q&A session Thursday morning to see what more I can learn and report back.

I didn't mention this in my update today because I was trying to keep it brief. So much going on! I attended the meeting today and my biggest take away is that the AI-Ready project is so massive and requires so many State-wide connections that I think we'd be better positioned to be a supporting partner to a prime awardee instead or a direct Partner to a Prime on the same Bid. Still very informative. They are basically looking for organization to be the central Coordination Hubs for each state across the country for AI-Readiness for everyone in America. If we want to pursue it, I think our next best step is to keep informed and find out who the major contenders are for the state of California(and New York now!) and start outreach to those organizations to see how the Latino Startup could partner with them to fulfill the requirements of the AI Coordination Hub Contract. Below is a slide describing some of the scope of what each Coordination Hub will be responsible for each of their State:
