🤔 What Are the Real Odds Your Kid Swims in the Olympics?!
Your kid is probably not going to the Olympics. And that's the best news I can give you. I know how that sounds. Stay with me. Your kid probably won't get the full D1 ride either, or swim professionally. That's not me being negative... that's just the math. Only about 3 in 100 high-school swimmers ever swim NCAA Division 1, and a full-ride swimming scholarship is rarer still. The odds of going PRO are wayyyy below 1000:1... no matter how fast they are at 13. Here's why it's good news, and it's not to crush a dream. Something clicked for me reading a business newsletter, of all places. The writer pointed out that almost every business owner dreams of selling their company one day.. but only about 1 in 1'000 ever actually does. And in chasing that exit, people spend their whole career sacrificing the thing that was valuable the entire time, and often end up with neither. Swap "selling the company" for "going pro" and you've described a lot of swim families. Because here's what's valuable RIGHT NOW, guaranteed, win or lose: A kid who learns to lose and come back. Who builds a work ethic most adults never find. Who has a team, a body that moves, a reason to get up early, and a thing that is unmistakably theirs. That payoff is real whether or not the Olympic one ever shows up. So don't optimize your kid's entire childhood around a 0.1% outcome and burn out the joy that would have paid off either way. Let it count now. And I genuinely want to know, so be honest: if someone could tell you for certain your kid will never swim past high school... would you still want them in this sport? And why? Hoping to get an interesting conversation going in the comments! 👇 PS: Academy training tomorrow will be live from Mallorca!! 🌴

If being in the olympics is the dream then go for it. If you don’t make it at least you’ve tried and if you do that’s super amazing! There are so many positive life skills achieved along the way so it’s a win win anyway. So proud of my daughter wherever her swim journey takes her.
Competition, the last before summerbreak
Today was my last competition before summerbreak. I caught a cold just two days before the comp and didn‘t know if anything would work out. Still I have all and I‘m pretty happy with the outcome. My races today were 200 free, 100free, 50 free and 100 IM. I started out with 200 free and swam it the second time in my life. This time I tried to start out faster and finish fast. Because of my cold, I think, I had no breath at the end and lost Speed Inserat if increasing Speed. Nevertheless I finished 6 seconds faster than last time (2:45,17) The second Race was 50 free. I finally left the stupid 33 behind and swam 31.29 at the exact Same Pool where I got my first 33! So I got a 2 second Pb. Third was 100 free I didn‘t Swim it for almost a year because of different reasons. I was in a slower Heat because of that gap, my last time was a 1:17. today I swam a 1.13,06. I think I could have been faster but I‘m happy with the 4 seconds faster. Last was 100 IM I now was teures and had a headache but tried to go fast. It Kind of didn‘t work out. I was 4 hundreds faster but that doesb‘t really count. I know I have to work on my back and breast Part and will do that. So today was a good experience to go in Break now and to be motivated to start out better After Summer than today.

Well done!!
Summer splash meet 2026
I had a Summer Splash meet at Southampton this weekend, and I had a good few PBs considering I hadn’t been training regularly for the last month because of my GCSE exams. Nevertheless, I was very happy with my times. Unfortunately, I wasn’t so happy with my 200 IM. I swam a 2:29.60, which was 4.4 seconds slower than my PB. This altered my mood and made me feel quite negative. However, after talking to my coach, I understood that I had gone out too fast. Although I managed to PB my 50 fly split, the overall result reflected my lack of consistent training. I was also too excited going into the race, which affected my pacing. Later in the weekend, my swims got a lot better. In the 50 breaststroke, I finally broke a PB that had stood for over a year, swimming a 34.07 and dropping 0.96 seconds. This lifted my mood and made me feel much more optimistic. That confidence carried into my 100 freestyle, where I swam a 57.00, taking 0.55 seconds off my PB. My 50 fly was right after that, and I swam a 28.69. Unfortunately, I didn’t PB because I could feel the lactic acid building up in my legs. Throughout the swim, I felt heavy with every arm pull and felt like I was sitting too deep in the water. That concluded day one. On day two, I only had two events. My first race was the 50 backstroke, where I achieved a time of 30.65, a PB by 0.48 seconds. My second race of the day was the 50 freestyle. This was the race I had been waiting for and the one I hoped to perform best in. I did exactly that, swimming a 25.38 in a tech suit that had actually ripped slightly while I was putting it on. This was a huge PB of 0.92 seconds, and I was extremely happy with the result. It was good enough to place second. Overall, I am very happy with my results, especially considering I had been out of the water for a significant amount of time before the meet. The weekend showed me that, despite a lack of consistent training, I can still perform well, and it has given me a lot of motivation going forward.

Impressive well done
We've been sitting on a secret for months… (+ No Nag Method & Creatine Guide)
Aaaaaand we finally get to say it out loud 👀 3 things dropped today, and one of them is genuinely a "wait, WHAT?" moment: 1) The surprise 🏆 We expanded the coaching staff for the summer Performance Accelerators in Tenerife… and we landed a WORLD RECORD HOLDER. He famously lost to Michael Phelps by 1/100 in the 100m fly. He's coaching at BOTH camps, for the full month. Your swimmers are going to lose their minds (in the best way). More on who it is in today's video. 2) The No-Nag Method 📵 Get your swimmer off the phone WITHOUT nagging, confiscating, or being the bad guy. It's free, it runs right here in the group, and we're capping it at 30 swim families (we're already most of the way there). It kicks off the last week of June. Read this pinned post to see how to claim one of the last spots. We're almost full. 3) The free creatine guide 💪 20+ peer-reviewed studies, all on competitive swimmers (not runners, not triathletes). Interactive quiz + a full Swimpros PDF specifically designed to give you everything you need to know to make your own decision. 👉 It's FREE in here until tomorrow (Friday) evening. Afterwards it's living inside the Premium Membership. Comment "CREATINE" below and I'll send you the secret link. And then go watch today's video for the full surprise 👇

Creatine
🥄🥫 CREATINE... Yes or no?
What's your experience with it? Comment below 👇 At the University of Virginia we all took it and I loved it because I seemed to recover better. That was coming from the performance nutritionist of Team USA (all the Superstars basically). Creatine is the most researched supplement so I could put together a guide for parents and swimmers if you want. Let's first discuss: Who's tried it? What happened? Who's against it? Why? 🚨 VOTE: A Swimpros Guide for parents and athletes on when and how to use Creatine?
