Lessons from 14 days straight going into the ice bath
I started a new challenge of going 30 days in the ice bath in a row. The main reason for doing it is to challenge myself even more right at the beginning of the day. Most days I’m doing it around 4:30AM. I get out of bed, get the ice ready, and jump into it. Here is what I have noticed so far: 1- My level of discipline is increasing: I have always been passionate about discipline and levelling myself up. I was doing cold showers for a long time, but they weren’t challenging me anymore. When that happens, I felt that I needed something harder, something that forces me to do things. The ice bath is doing exactly that for me. 2- Dopamine levels are INSANE: I leave the ice bath feeling like I want to conquer the world. It gives me such a strong shot of good dopamine that I can’t even describe how much better I feel after it. It sets the tone for the day. 7 hours of sleep, ice bath, workout, and deep work, I feel incredible and it keeps me going. 3- People are enjoying it: I have been making videos for my Instagram and sharing this challenge. People are getting inspired and motivated. I talk a lot about discipline, fitness, nutrition and mindset, things that I help people with and how I live my life. It feels good to see people resonate with it. The feedback has been really positive. 4- I’m keeping the promises to myself: Every day this challenge forces me to be there. I don’t miss a day because I know I made this commitment to myself. Posting it every day also helps with accountability. I’m not someone who breaks my word, and this challenge reinforces that. 5- My stress tolerance is increasing: Ice baths teach your mind and body how to stay calm under pressure. If you can stay present and controlled in freezing water, you can stay present and controlled in stressful conversations, busy workdays, or moments where your emotions usually take over. When you train your nervous system in discomfort, everyday problems feel lighter and easier to handle. These are the lessons that I have learned so far. There will be days I won't be feeling in the mood to do it. But it is part of the process. That's how you level up in life.
