Why Most Biohacks Stress the Body + What Actually Restores It
Tonight’s Earth 2.0 call with Mike and Alyssa from ALIGN was such a powerful reminder that healing is not about doing more to the body. It is about learning how to listen to it again. We opened with breath, grounding, and coherence, then went deep into one of the most important conversations of this time: Why so many modern “biohacks” can actually dysregulate the nervous system… and what truly helps the body feel safe enough to heal. Some of the biggest takeaways from tonight: When the body is already overwhelmed, even “healthy” tools can become another stressor if they are used without discernment. Cold exposure, sauna, overtraining, under-eating, overstimulation, and the constant push to optimize can all keep people stuck in survival mode instead of restoration. Mike and Alyssa shared how so many people today are living in a state of being wired and tired. Exhausted, but unable to fully rest. Pushing, but not truly recovering. And often the missing piece is not more force. It is regulation. We also spoke about EMFs, energetic hygiene, and the importance of creating environments that support deeper sleep, better recovery, and nervous system safety. One of the clearest messages from the night was this: Your body has innate wisdom. Healing starts when you slow down enough to hear it. A few of the practical shifts we discussed: - turn Wi-Fi off at night - keep phones away from the bed - reduce unnecessary stimulation in the sleep space - get outside and reconnect with nature - use tools that support the body in returning to parasympathetic state - focus less on hacking and more on re-aligning What I loved most about this conversation is that it was not fear-based. It was empowering. Not “be scared of the modern world.” But instead: learn how to strengthen your field, regulate your system, and live in deeper coherence. Mike and Alyssa are the founders of ALIGN, a company focused on nervous system restoration, nature-tuned PEMF, and tools designed to help people stress less, sleep deeper, and recover better. Their site describes the ALIGN Mat as using nature-tuned PEMF, far infrared heat, and globally sourced stones, with benefits like deeper sleep, relaxation, faster recovery, and improved HRV.

Loved this conversation. The part about the body needing safety before it can actually heal really landed for me. Sometimes less really is more.
The 10–15 Minute Sunset Ritual for Deep Sleep
This simple sunset ritual is designed to reset the body after a long day, calm the nervous system, and prepare the mind and body for deep, restorative sleep. Checkout our video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNWr-I86Q00&t=23s It only takes about 10–15 minutes, but when practiced consistently it can help regulate circadian rhythm, improve sleep quality, and reconnect you with nature. The routine combines several powerful practices: grounding, sunset gazing, gentle movement, breathwork, gratitude, and connection. 1. Grounding the Body The ritual begins by removing your shoes and placing your feet directly on the earth. This can be sand, soil, grass, or rock. Grounding allows your body to discharge excess electrical charge that builds up throughout the day from stress, electronics, and modern environments. Research suggests grounding may help reduce inflammation, calm the nervous system, and restore a natural energetic balance with the earth. Standing barefoot for just a few minutes can begin to shift the body out of stress mode and into a state of relaxation. 2. Soft Sunset Gazing Next comes gentle sunset gazing during the final minutes before the sun drops below the horizon. The red and orange spectrum of sunset light is incredibly important for the body’s circadian rhythm. This light signals the brain that the day is ending and begins the natural production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleep. It also energizes the mitochondria in the retina, which plays an important role in brain function and regulating biological rhythms. The key is to relax your gaze and simply receive the light rather than staring intensely. 3. Gentle Movement and Spinning During sunset, gentle movement can help release the physical and emotional stress accumulated during the day. This can include slow stretching, light dancing, or spinning. Spinning is a beautiful practice that helps reset the vestibular system and reconnect the body to natural flow and balance.

Love simple routines like this. That sunset light really does something to the body. Definitely going to try this on evenings when I can catch the sunset, all I need is the beach 😅 on a serious note I would definitely try to catch it later
A little help needed
Having trouble staying regulated . Im a fairly new member and haven't figured out how the platform works yet. Im obviously behind on classroom and such. But im living in mold for another couple of months. I need some guidance. My sinuses are so bad I have trouble nose a little help pleasereathing i also have sleep apnea mildly and I dont know if that's a factor in not being able to do breathwork. But I also know I need more. As I said I csnt see im very behind as there's been a reset challenge i missed and its day 5.i have a lot of physical psin as well as emotional baggage. I dont understand how-to navigate and get what I need in the group

Hey Janet, welcome. Don’t worry about being behind. Nobody’s really behind here. Just start with whatever lesson or post feels doable today. And if the mold is affecting your breathing, focus on taking care of yourself first. The reset stuff will still be here when you’re ready. and also that link @john commented on your post is a big help on how to get you started
From Goals to Coherence
Sometimes it’s quite amazing how one decision to click in can open up an avenue to growth. The goals to coherence reflection was really challenging but I will now acknowledge a tiny breakthrough. I did it. I sat in a bit of initial discomfort and I’m sitting in more discomfort as I share but I’m open to the growth that I desire. My understanding is that if coherence is my priority then all the things that I know I should be doing would become effortless, and I will be able to get more done and feel more fulfilled in life. Question 5 what single activation container deserves my focus right now? Right now, I need to focus on studying French. Even though this is going to be my focus, this is not going to stop me from doing other little things like working on my gym routine and my diet and meditation because these are things that are very important in my life as well. I am thankful for this space.

Love this Janelle. That moment of just doing the thing even when it feels uncomfortable is big. Also French sounds fun.

@Janelle Simon Haha I get that. I’m the same way, I rarely give myself credit either. But honestly that’s still a big step. And hey, making it fun will definitely help with the French. 😊
