This is an older painting. I have a tendency to get lost in details, and simplifying is something I still struggle with.

Painted in gouache from a photo taken during a winter holiday. Small painting 20cmw x 15cm. The water in the foreground was very difficult to paint - and the sky is far too "busy" (how can I soften edges in gouache?), but I enjoyed the painting process. I mistakenly thought this would be fairly straightforward - it wasn't.

Yesterday was a beautiful morning in Hawaii. Perfect to paint a morning scene.

This is a painting from my own original photo. It’s from Natural* Bridges* Nat’l Monument. (Had the wrong place when posted). This is an 8x10” acrylic on acrylic paper and took 4 3/4 hours to paint. I’m including my original photo and my original illustration.

Hi everyone, I’ve continued working on my acrylic study. What do you think — do the tonal values work better now? Do the fallen branches in the foreground look odd? I’d really appreciate any tips or feedback!
