Why we focus on losses more than wins
Most of us grew up getting red X’s in school for wrong answers and not gold stars for what we did right. If I asked you to name 10 things you messed up this week, you could probably rattle them off. When I ask for 10 wins, it gets quiet. That's because our brain remembers what came with the most emotion, and for most of us, that was mistakes. So we underestimate how much we’re actually getting right. We set the bar so high that the everyday wins don’t even register. That matters more than it sounds, because it affects your self-esteem. Think of your self-esteem as a stack of poker chips. Every win you notice is another chip on your stack. The bigger your stack, the more willing you are to take chances, because one miss won’t knock you out of the game. And the more you risk, the more you win in life. In midlife, many of us look back and see the same patterns show up again and again. This is one worth breaking. That’s why every Wednesday is WINSday🎉 inside Midlife UNpaused, a community for women living their BEST midlife. We celebrate at least one win. The bar is low on purpose. Took a shower? Counts. Asked for help? Counts. If you want a place to notice more wins and stack more chips, join us. We'd love to celebrate you.

Very true. Which is why celebrating your wins no matter how small is so strategic. You cannot have more of what you are unwilling to celebrate. 🥰
One Memory. One Finished Scene.
Do you have a story sitting in a kitchen drawer? A letter. A photo. A day you can still smell. You keep meaning to write it down, and then the week happens. Come sit with me Wednesday, October 21 for From Memory to Memoir at 1:00 P.M. CST. We will take one memory and finish one scene. Not a whole book. Not a pretty draft. Just the part that has been waiting. Here is the map I use when a child says they have nothing to write: beginning, middle, end, on slip of paper. Then we leave the map and write the part that itches - that speaks to you. One detail you can see, hear, or smell. Spelling is not the story. Correct grammar is not the story. The story is the thing that made you sit down in the first place. If that sounds helpful, the hour is free. Wednesday, October 21, at 1:00 PM Central. Inside Joan Raymond’s room, A Heart for Writing. The Literacy Lounge is hosting me there. Bring a memory, a notebook or the notes app, and a cup of your favorite beverage. If you only listen, that counts too. You do not need to share. A yes is enough. A Heart for Writing: A Heart For Writing The Literacy Lounge: The Literacy Lounge What memory has been waiting?

Facebook is now CHARGING for links!😡
266,000 followers. 17 years. Now I get 2 links a month. 🤯 I started my Facebook business page in February 2009. Built it to 266,000 followers. Now my page can’t post more than 2 links per month without paying. Meanwhile, posting Pins that link to your products, blog, or website is still FREE. 📌 This is your reminder to put Pinterest to work. You don’t need 266,000 followers to start. You need something worth sharing, relevant keywords, and a Pin that gives people a reason to click. Your move today: Pick ONE product or blog post. Create a fresh Pin. Link directly to it. By being active around the Skool ecosystem, collaborating with others and creating opportunities to get discovered. Because growth doesn't have to mean posting more and hoping someone notices you. It can mean creating your own mix of visibility opportunities: 🎤 Interviews — share your expertise and let new audiences discover you. 🎁 Bundles — put your free resources in front of people looking for what you offer. 🤝 Collaborations — build relationships that introduce you to new audiences. 🎙️ Live speaking opportunities — share what you know, build trust and connect with people who need your expertise. 📣 Affiliate partnerships — help others discover valuable communities and offers while creating opportunities to earn. One activity alone may not change much. But combine different ways to get seen, build relationships and make it easy for people to take the next step — and you create your own growth boost. 🔥 That's what Backstage Mastermind is about. These are the kinds of visibility and collaboration opportunities you can explore inside Backstage, with free ways to participate and additional benefits for Premium members.
