Can VR Actually Help You Sleep Better?
We already know VR can crush a workout (https://www.skool.com/vybrant-training-academy-9812/is-vr-the-future-of-home-fitness-or-just-a-gimmick?p=fed16483) …But here’s the real question: Can virtual reality improve your sleep, or is that just another tech fantasy? Some people swear VR meditation, breath work apps, and calming environments help them shut their brains off at night.Others think putting a headset on before bed is the exact opposite of what you should do. So let’s open it up: Do you think VR can genuinely help with sleep? Or is it too stimulating and counterproductive before bed? Would you use it as part of your wind-down routine? Or nah — headset stays far away from the bedroom?

@Joshua Haag it’s still challenging because I hate resorting to sleep meds if my sleep deteriorates to the point where I’m only getting 4ish hours sleep/night… I’m super sensitive to stress - good or bad - and historically sleep issues start when I’m really excited about something new šŸ˜ It’s better but not fixed.

@Joshua Haag it’s taking anything at all. I just want my body to work the way it was designed to work šŸ˜ The dose that I take is so small and it is non habit forming which is why I take it plus super cheap. So many supplements are all natural but costly and I’m resistant to try something else that is going to be costly when what I have works if I absolutely need something… Especially being in Canada - if it’s something special that’s only available to order through the States, exchange and delivery will most likely make the cost prohibitive.

@Joshua Haag for right now, I’m working on restoring my iron levels which have been depleted to the point of exhaustion (blood test showed my hemoglobin was 80 and they start giving blood transfusions at 70!) so this is more than just a matter of going to bed on time with a bedtime routine :) It’s a matter of giving my body all the rest it needs cause even simple tasks are exhausting me these days.

@Joshua Haag pretty sure it’s extreme heavy periods which I thought I had addressed for good a few years ago but let slide back into my life without realizing how bad it was. And I’ve seen a gynecologist who did an endometrium biopsy a week ago to try to get to the root of the heavy bleeding issue - I see her again first week of December I think to learn the results of the biopsy. I’m 53 next week though so hopefully close to menopause so will likely just shift into managing my cycles with seed cycling (regulates hormones) and shepherd’s purse (stops bleeding) rather than doing any of the extreme things that have been suggested to me so far to address the symptoms. And taking my time to rest and let my iron stores build up again.
Seasonal Time Shifts May Be Harming Your Health — What New Research Says
Most Americans will set their clocks back on Nov. 2 — but a new study led by Jamie Zeitzer, co-director of the Stanford Center for Sleep and Circadian Sciences, says those twice-a-year clock changes may be quietly damaging your health. Your body runs on an internal 24-hour rhythm called your circadian clock. It controls sleep, hormones, metabolism, mood, and cellular repair. And here’s the kicker:It does not adapt well to artificial time changes. Even a one-hour shift can throw off: - Sleep timing - Hormone release - Appetite and metabolism - Cognitive performance - Stress levels and inflammation Spring Forward Is the Most Dangerous Research shows losing an hour in March leads to: - More heart attacks - More car crashes - Higher hospitalization rates - Increased insomnia and mood issues It’s basically jet lag — without the vacation. But ā€œFall Backā€ Isn’t Safe Either Gaining an hour still disrupts your biology. Studies show the fall shift can cause: - Fragmented sleep for up to a week - Early-morning wakeups - Irritability and fatigue - Disrupted hunger hormones - Circadian misalignment, especially in adults over 35 Your brain loves stability. Clock changes don’t give it that… SO my questions to you are: Why does this matter? And should the clock changes end??

Yep, definitely think the clock changes should end but think we have the ability to control the effects to a certain degree when we are self employed :) I don’t stress about the time. I wake up when my body decides it’s time and the hour on the clock doesn’t do a whole lot to affect that because I don’t have places to go and I control when I have calls I need to attend. The point of the changes was to help farmers with more light in the summer but so many use artificial lighting now that it’s not really needed anyway as far as I understand…
šŸŒ™ My Quiet Hours of Creation
When the house is finally asleep, that’s when I come alive. As a mother, I’ve learned to flow with my own rhythm—sleeping every two hours, sometimes less, and using the in-between moments to create, plan, and build. It’s not always easy (some nights feel endless), but there’s something deeply rewarding about pouring into my work and community while the world rests. These small windows of quiet have become my sacred time to dream wide awake—writing, reflecting, and staying connected with other Skool builders. Being part of Vybrant Sleep Academy reminds me that sleep isn’t just about more hours—it’s about alignment. How we honor our unique cycles, care for our bodies, and still make space for what matters most. šŸ’¬ Question for the group: How do you balance your personal rhythm—especially when sleep doesn’t follow the ā€œperfectā€ schedule—but you still want to show up as your best self? 🌻 Here’s to rest, rhythm, and radiant recovery. #SleepRhythms #MothersBalance #NightOwlsUnite #VybrantCommunity #SkoolMoms

@Ruth aka Grace Rose and love that you talk to the birds!! I do that when I’m out for my walks too! Dogs, cats, birds, they’re all fair game for conversations!!
Before bed.
Listening to Josh's podcast got me thinking, some people read or right down in a journal before to help sleep. I have found if I have have my room low lit and no distractions I do a sudoku or two before bed it really helps clearing up my brain to shut down for the night
Before bed.
