I saw your challenge, is that the group you’re referring to? The other group under your name looks archived. How did that challenge go? Did people participate? If they did, what kind of results did they get (and did you capture any feedback in the form of testimonials that you could then use on your landing page?) Weekly polls 2-3 a week at a regular time and day are always helpful. This builds a habit of people coming back. Also, questions in the form of polls are fun and hard not to answer, especially if you make them specific and have constraints. One weekly live session is also great for people to meet each other and engage over some kind of topic. Also, I’m curious why you chose the $1 fee? To me that price is only a barrier to entry with no value to you. Have you considered making it free or paid at a rate that would be valuable to you? Or one free group as a lead magnet of sorts and another paid group (until or if there are ever pricing tiers here on school.)

@Sam Bomjan That’s great! I’d probably make your challenge free and treat it like a lead magnet or as a low ticket like $27-$97 one time fee then upsell them at the end to a higher tier paid subscription (not a one time pay but smthn monthly.) Many ppl here have either 2 groups or use smthn like Thrivecart to upsell as they level up inside their Skool. If you want some fun homework, if you don’t already I’d recommend start following Stu McLaren on IG for membership tips and actionable info, Amy Porterfield for tips on building an email list and why, and Laura Belgray on how to talk to your list. They all have paid programs, and I am not an affiliate but do wish I followed them early on in my business for some pro tips. And some great books, if you haven’t read them already, Russell Brunson's Linchpin (all his books actually, but especially that one on a continuity membership), David Spinks’ The Business of Belonging. Donald Miller’s Business Made Simple for general business info if you are just getting started. These books on audible are great because they are each read by the authors (though I don’t think the linchpin is avail recorded yet.) Donald Miller also has a great, short 5 minute marketing workshop that is excellent for what to put on your landing page or website. It is free when you sign up for his newsletter. If you google 5 minute marketing makeover, it will come up. Here on Skool I see many people with a free and paid group(s), and @Mariah Coz is one doing that so it could be good to check out her groups as examples. And @Ted Carr too. Good luck with your business and community. ✨
skool vs. circle. vs. kajabi vs. other platforms...
Here is the consensus... tldr; skool dominates. Context: I'm a developer, a huge tech nerd. Have a YouTube channel with 1m+ subs and 5,000+ paying customers. Done well over 7+ figures in revenue. I have used Teachable, Kajabi, Podia, Heartbeat, Facebook Groups, Discord, Slack, and probably few others I can't think of lol. And spent 100's of hours in the last few weeks trying to pick a solid platform that meets my needs. Yesterday I got on free trials for circle & skool. I spent hours and hours talking to my good friend about the pros and cons. I wanted to join circle so bad because the UI/UX seems SOOO much better on Circle. But skool had simplicty. I couldn't make up my mind. So here's what I decided to do. A live user test. I went to my girlfriend. Opened up a Circle community on the 1st tab. Opened up a Skool community on the 2nd tab. Asked her to use them. I just sat back and watched. Holy mother of hell. She kept clicking on random things in Circle and kept getting confused in terms of how to navigate. She didn't know exactly where the course material was vs. community. vs. members. I then watched her use Skool. She knew EXACTLY where the community was, members, and the course. Here are her exact words... "I don't know how to put it... But Skool just feels familiar." And in my head I was like "Yes it does lol. Because it's Facebook". I then asked my girlfriend to rate her experience on both platforms. She said 6/10 on Circle. She said 9/10 on Skool. I then sat down and started building my course modules on Skool. The experience was better than ANY course builders experience than I've ever had. It's fast. It's simple AF. and it genuinely inspired me to build. It was a similar experience i've had when I used beehiiv for emails. It blew Convertkit and everything else out of the water for me. So... I think I'm going to be going with Skool. I'm still in the 14 day trial. Haven't started paying just yet. But I think very soon I will be.

That's awesome. I hope Skool sees your post because this could make for an amazing testimonial, most of it anyway! @Sid Sahasrabuddhe
Skool vs. Kajabi: A Battle of Gamified Communities
I made a comparison of two strong players in the game of online courses: https://youtu.be/bHdNVNypVYQ Would love to hear what you think - do you agree on the conclusions?

That's a great video! I don't have a Kajabi acct myself even though I've bought other people's Kajabi courses (many of which I bought and they just sat there collecting digital dust.) All that empty white space you pointed out a few times in chat, etc. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«
How to create additional discussion topics?
Hi all - I would really appreciate some help / guidance? How do I go about creating additional discussion topics within my community within Skool? I.e. as Skool itself has done, with the "product question" group heading etc... This has been requested by my community and I would like to make this happen? πŸ™πŸ™

I don't have my own Skool acct yet, but I'm in multiple communities and they all have multiple discussion topics at the top, so there must be a place in settings to do this. I can't find it in the help center right now, but maybe it's here in the help center someplace! https://help.skool.com/category/51-content-management Or someone else will chime in. :)

The Poll Trick (If you already have an engaging Skool community... Don't read this)
I've discovered a simple trick that boosts engagement like crazy. It's so easy, anyone can do it. It doesn't require any special skills, tools, or money. And it works for any topic, niche, or audience. It's adding a poll to your posts. A simple poll. Whenever you post something in your community, whether it's a question, a challenge, a tip, or a story, always add a poll at the end of it. Ask your members to vote on something related to your post. Or at least give their opinion. Why? Because most communities have low engagement, they have too many ghost readers. - Those people who just read your posts, get free knowledge, click some links, get free stuff, and don't even bother to comment or like But, I mean… you can't blame them. It's human nature. They don't have any real reason to engage with you. (Yet) But if you give them a poll, you give them a reason. You make them curious. You make them feel important. You make them feel part of something bigger. Why does it work? Because people love to share their opinions. Especially online. They also love to see what other people think. And compare themselves to others. A poll gives them a chance to do both. It also makes them feel more involved and valued in your community. And it shows them that you care about what they have to say. But here's the best part: A poll is super easy for them to participate in. They don't have to write a long comment or reply. They don't have to think too hard or be creative. They don't even have to read your whole post (although they should). All they have to do is click a button. One simple button they just can't resist. And BOOM. They're engaged. How cool is that? I think it's pretty cool, I've tested this trick on dozens of Skool communities and the results are amazing. Every time I add a poll to a post, I get more votes than likes or comments. Sometimes 10 times more. Sometimes 100 times more. (OK, maybe not that much) But still... it means more people are reading my posts, paying attention, and taking action.

I love polls. It's hard not to answer questions, which is why questions, especially in the format of a poll, are so engaging. And I love seeing poll results too. It's fun to watch the slider light up with the results and who chose what.
