Fresh breath struggles
still struggling with a fresh breath, head not lifting up high enough yet :(

I can see you are not lifting your mouth out well. Are you exhaling properly before lifting your head? That may be also an issue. If you don't exhale properly before lifting your body won't see the necessity to inhale while you lift your head. You can practice some sculling drills which helps you to stay balanced when you lift your head out. I am not an expert and will leave it to the expert coaches Jeff and Meredith.

Before I started swimming I was gripped with fear of water. Dipping my head in shallow waters would be a nightmare. I never let any fear (not the ones which are really dangerous) overcome me in my life. So I took the challenge and with little assistance from real world instructors and more help from online ones like Carribe swimming I overcame that fear. Now I can access the one which I always enjoyed (water), but was kept from due to fear, freely.
Breathe out through nose or mouth
Dear coaches, Is it good to breathe out through nose or mouth. What advantages and disadvantages breathing out through mouth as most online videos suggest to breathe out through nose. How are the expert swimmers able to breathe out through nose consistently. Do they hum as suggested in some videos or they follow some other strategy?

@Meredith Barrington Great advice than you! Even I find exhaling at one go comfortable than slow continous exhale.
Coach Jeff and Coach Meridith thank you
Coach Jeff and Coach Meridith thank you for all your videos and guidance you provided for us. Your channel on YT is really underated. Actually it simplifies many complex aspects of swimming. One such video is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZB5XZFJ1A4&t=870s and I am slowly coming to achieve what I mentioned in my comment https://ibb.co/KxX18X1R (Long way to go to swim like you). Below is my video of trying to achive a more stable swim after 8 months (50 - 60 hrs. in reality).
