A NEW COURSE (and a story)
Just added the ORIGINAL Chimp Essentials course by Paul Jarvis to the classroom. Why? Here's a little story in a few bulletpoints... - For most folk back in the day, Paul Jarvis was seen as the go-to Mailchimp expert - He launched this course back in 2016, and updated it to this version in 2021 - This course made Paul Jarvis over $200k per year in revenue (ref) - I reached out to Paul in 2021, knowing he was focusing on his new analytics tool Fathom Analytics - I proposed an offer and acquired the Chimp Essentials course, brand, website etc from him - I rebranded my mostly-Mailchimp-focused agency MailNinja to Chimp Essentials and bundled in support, coaching etc to the course - I recruited a trainer and re-recorded the course, and added more deep dive courses - I then sold the Chimp Essentials brand and new course library - I retained ownership of the original Ok, you're now up to date. So why release this course? 1. I own it, it's sat there, so why not 2. Despite being YEARS out of date, the content still has huge value. The strategies and stuff Paul talks about is still relevant, even if Mailchimp's features and UI has changed a little So there you go. A free course. Enjoy ❤️ https://www.skool.com/doug/classroom/01238604

2X Email Coaching with Doug - I bit the bullet
Having experienced @Doug Dennison no nonsense generosity here in the community, and purchased and devoured his 2X email course I bit the bullet and chose to get one-on-one coaching. I wanted to jump in here since we're in this boat together and share my experience in case others are considering. I've been in the email marketing space for years so not a rookie, but know I also needed a coach who knows the ropes better than I do, and who would not BS or molly coddle. I've taken several courses (some of them super expensive) but Doug and his content has been by far the most helpful and actionable I've encountered. My onboarding session was last Thursday and Doug did not rush one bit - he took the time to understand my business, my audience, and the goals I have in mind, as well as what working parts I have in place and which ones are lacking. Being able to brainstorm and bounce my questions, concerns, confusions, and get feedback on my current state of play and strategies was priceless. I now have a clear idea what next steps will be, and feel far more confident to make some bold decisions based on that one conversation. What's most striking is the calm confidence Doug displays that clearly comes from years of experience and a refusal to buy into any hype or passing trends, and double down on getting the fundamentals in place for list quality and of course growth (growth that will yield results, not just spammy numbers growth). I'm already making moves to clear and clean my list of dead wood, clarify my current strategy and craft the assets that are needed to move forward with confidence.

Doug, probably a question to send you in a dm, but what do we get in the coaching program?
How often should you purge your email list? 👩‍💻
Cleaning your email list – a hot topic, right? 🧹 Here’s the deal: a smaller, engaged list beats a massive one any day. - Reward your engaged subscribers. Early access, exclusive discounts, gamify it. Make them feel special. - But the cold subscribers? The ones who haven’t opened or clicked in 90 days? They’re just taking up space. I use Kit (formerly ConvertKit), and they mark these folks as “cold subscribers” after 90 days of radio silence. If someone’s ignored 12 weekly emails, are they really worth keeping? Here’s my routine: - Weekly: Remove bounces, complaints (hopefully none!), and unsubscribes. - Monthly: Filter out cold subscribers. Some marketers keep ‘em for vanity. Others are stricter. What about you? Let’s hear it 👇

I try to keep my list purged as much as I can, and always do it manually
Focus on ONE message
Ever tried to cram 10 ideas into one email? Yeah, don’t. 🚫 Here’s the deal: your newsletter isn’t a buffet. It’s a single, delicious dish. Serve one message, one idea, one CTA. - Focus on one problem. - Offer one solution. - Ask for one action. Too much to say? Break it into multiple emails. More emails = more engagement = more sales. Simple, right? So, next time you’re writing, ask yourself: “What’s the one thing I want my reader to do?” Then stick to it. Pinky promise. 🤙 Let’s keep it clean, focused, and effective. Your audience will thank you.

Sometimes you need to send out a couple of bits of news or products, but we get much better stats when we break them up and send multiple emails, each with a single message, even if it means you send more emails a week than usual Great tips, thanks Doug
