Cleaning your email list – a hot topic, right? 🧹
Here’s the deal: a smaller, engaged list beats a massive one any day.
- Reward your engaged subscribers. Early access, exclusive discounts, gamify it. Make them feel special.
- But the cold subscribers? The ones who haven’t opened or clicked in 90 days? They’re just taking up space.
I use Kit (formerly ConvertKit), and they mark these folks as “cold subscribers” after 90 days of radio silence. If someone’s ignored 12 weekly emails, are they really worth keeping?
Here’s my routine:
- Weekly: Remove bounces, complaints (hopefully none!), and unsubscribes.
- Monthly: Filter out cold subscribers.
Some marketers keep ‘em for vanity. Others are stricter.
