I turned vegetarian at 12 years old ! Slowly adopted veganism once I hit my 20s
Funny story
My body is pretty good at hypertrophy so I often get folks asking me about my workout routine. The other day a young girl came up to me and said “I have to have your arms. What do I need to do?” So, tongue in cheek, I started with “well, you have to be vegan”. Without missing beat she said “ok, and what else.” 😂. I rolled with it after that and let her take that in. I felt a little pang of guilt for a moment, but I think overall I’m pretty happy with myself. I hope I see her again so I can see how it plays out. It’s the little things that keep me sane.

I really hope you will run into her again!
80/10/10?
What do yall think about the 80/10/10 diet? (80% calories from carbs, 10% fat, 10% protein).

It definitely works but I wouldn’t stick to it long term. Fats are simply too low to make this sustainable long term. It does work as easy weight loss solution because you eat lots of high fibre carbs and some legumes. Good to go so long as you don’t use this as an excuse to eat refined dirty carbs.

Complete protein
When we talk about complete proteins, we're talking about whether these protein sources contain all nine essential amino acids needed to grow and build muscle. The thing is, you've likely been lied to your entire life. You do not need to worry about complete proteins as a vegan, unless you eat beans and only beans for 24 hours straight. You don't need to worry about pairing certain proteins for each meal. Not only is this mentally daunting, it’s also just another trick to make vegans think they are at a disadvantage. You're going to get what you need through a varied source of proteins in your diet. Let me tell you this: myself, every client I've taken to stage, literally every client I've ever worked with, we've never tracked their complete grams of protein. We've never done a deep-dive analysis of amino acids. When you eat a varied diet (and this includes soy-free athletes as well) you don't have to worry about where you get your protein.

It’s so crazy that we were sold a myth that was plant proteins completely lack one of the nine essentials but every protein has them, just some are low in one of them. The only true incomplete protein is collagen protein which actually truly lacks one of the nine aminos
