Coach Kevin Question of the Day!
If I looked at your daily actions without knowing your goal, would I be able to figure out what you’re working toward? Or would your habits be telling a different story? Because sometimes there’s a gap between what we say the goal is and what our day to day actually reflects. For example, saying fat loss is the priority but weekends are consistently going off plan. Saying you want to build muscle but protein is hit or miss and workouts get skipped. Saying you’re trying but there’s no real structure holding the week together. So the honest question is this. Are you actually struggling with knowing what to do, or are you struggling to consistently do something you already understand? Let’s hear your honest answers! :)
Let’s be honest here! For my sanity please.
Whom here still after losing a bunch of weight and getting buckets of compliments and seeing the results still look at themselves in the mirror and go. This and this and that I don’t like. Is it just me that still find fault in myself ?
Let’s be honest here! For my sanity please.

Even I find myself looking back at pictures of myself 10 years ago and ask myself how I wasn’t satisfied back then. We are definitely our biggest critics, and while it’s great to have the mindset of “proud but never satisfied”, just make sure that you’re celebrating every new version of yourself Valerie. :)
My lil lunch box
Eating oily food makes me feel ill. So today, I took charge and decided to give my body a break. Ransacked my fridge and pantry to find what I could use. Ta-da....my throw together quinoa and tuna 'bowl' with veggies! PS: can you spot the hard boil egg white? I can't take the yolk, so I threw that away.

Coach Kevin here! Really great example of what a single ingredient Whole Foods plate of foods looks like! Clean, simple and nutrition and looks like the right breakdown of each macro!
Hungry dad is back, but this is wife's request 🤯
Sometimes my wife surprises me, especially considering she doesn't usually beef, but today she asked for it. And here we go... Beef Tenderloin 🥩: - Used 3.5g of salt and dry-brined it on the 291g tenderloin' (it's quite thick!), letting it rest in the fridge for at least an hour. - Added a tiny bit of avocado oil on a cold stainless steel pan. Rub it with the tenderloin to "spread" it. - Now the magic part... turn on a medium-low fire and let the tenderloin rest there. Flatten it a bit, but LEAVE IT ALONE. - When you start seeing a bit of brown emerge at the bottom, move the steak around the pan. You should see more brown, that's the signal to flip. - Repeat for a total flip of 2 times per large side, then sear the sides of the tenderloin. - Add in some butter for final basting. - I swear cold searing works very well on thick steaks. Veggie Roast 🥕🍆: - I tossed the carrots and eggplants/brinjal with some avocado oil and salt. Roasted them at 220 deg C for around 25mins? (Was playing by ear) - The highlight on this day was the hummus... decided to try making from scratch again - 1 can of chickpeas, juice from half a lemon, 3 tablespoons tahini, drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, 1 clove of smashed garlic. - Played with my newly-bought Powerpac hand blender! Brrrrr Whirrrrrrr (User review: motor is very silent). - Daughter even had some hummus with the carrots, I call that a win. "Claypot" rice 🍚: Well, nothing much to say here... I used the spice paste from the Asian Home Gourmet brand. It's kinda on the sweet side, so I may have added a lil' bit of soy sauce and oyster sauce. All in a rice-cooker. We finished everything! But I learnt something about the hummus today and it sent me on a roller-coaster with the tracking... but never mind, I have already "closed shop", and I shall just assume it has that much fat. - Many hummus entries on MFP has a high amount of fat! That contributed to my 876kcal dinner entry. - When I searched for a typical chickpea entry on MFP, the fat was high too. - The above 2 searches were done with 1 cranky baby and 1 hyperactive-with-tantrums 3yo... so I didn't really scrutinize that much. - Today, I found out that the chickpea can I used (Daucy brand) has a lot less fat than the MFP entries, I should have made my own entry, considering I did not use a lot of olive oil too... - Guess that means I can try to estimate this evening if I reach home early and before I fetch the 3yo energizer bunny from school 😆

When Life Gets Loud, I Lift Louder 🏋️‍♀️😅❄️
Hello Monday… yeah I’m alive. 😅👋 Sorry I’ve been on a little hiatus from Skool… life was LIFING. MBA ramping up + work go-live software updates + work audit support + kids musical performances + kid birthday parties… and ohhh exciting news: after my MBA I’m going to start the process to get nationally certified as a group fitness instructor 🥹💪 (more on that soon!) BUT… I still showed up today. Snow didn’t stop me from getting into the gym after kids’ school drop-off. ❄️🏋️‍♀️ And I hit Full Body Workout A and set 4 new PRs today!! 🔥👏 Also… yes I was squatting on the Smith machine with my heels on plates so I could get deeper into the squat without annoying my left knee that’s currently mad at me for excessive pickleball this weekend. 🥲😂 (We’re training smart, not stubborn.) Anyway… I’m back. I’m moving. I’m proud. ✅ Drop a quick win from your Monday below so I can hype you up! 👇💛
