Game Mechanic #3
For quite some time, I believed that purpose was the most powerful motivator from the R.A.M.P. model. I designed this card with that idea and it's not a lie. I know today that PROGRESS and MASTERY are far more powerful because they drive purpose (there are many psychological terms involved in this, let me know if you need me to elaborate). Epic meaning is a a pretty great tool. Not all designs will allow it but when it can be present, don't hesitate to use it.

I can add from my experience; if you are walking around your Epic meaning, then the progress and mastery becomes joyful and it passes with less stress and more fun perspective.
The bottleneck of 'creating final design' is gone!? (Thanks to AI?)
Dear group, We probably don't need to talk about the last two years with AI. Amazing. And Gemini 3's latest “leap” is also incredible. This brings us to one question: For us as engagement designers, or more precisely, gamification designers, what exactly does this mean? From my point of view, AI solves one of the most time-consuming steps in the portfolio of a gamification agency: the final creation of the interaction. Any digital scenario can now be created in no time at all. Whether it's a serious game, a simulation, or a corresponding feedback system built directly into existing software. AI can do it. If we prompt it correctly. Admittedly. But it can do it. This means one thing: the “packaging” of gamification design has become ubiquitous and is NO LONGER a unique selling point. It is no longer a competitive advantage. This puts the focus for successful gamification designers in the future (IMHO) 99% on knowledge of psychology, organizational systems, the processes to be gamified, and the like. This will overwhelm a lot of current providers and flush them out of the market. But it will also bring an incredible amount of ‘dregs’ into the market. Because now, suddenly, anyone can build a pixel game, purely from a technical standpoint. And the past has already shown that many people think that's what gamification is all about. However, there will also be a completely new “high-end league” for gamification consultants. These are the ones who focus specifically on the “how & why” of building something, rather than the “what.” The ‘what’ (the final visual result) will become mass-produced. And this is exactly where those who can ask the perfect questions will stand out, prompting the customer and the ‘how & why’ to ultimately arrive at the right ‘what’. This is our time! It is Bernardo's and my ambition to shine together with you here in terms of the “how & why.” Whenever you have specific topics related to this, let's solve them together as peers in this group!

Well I think its not only AI but overall tech. Wearables for example. I think our how and why is the essence of creating a meaningful experience. We also need to expand our designs in the infinite possibilities we can design with technology. I am excited.

Hi, I'm Kerem Yazıcı. I'm a multidisciplinary social entrepreneur from Istanbul, Türkiye who loves creating, inspiring, and building meaning through play — with a focus on entrepreneurship, gamification, and futurism. I'm the co-founder of Keny Kids, where we design products that support children's creativity and strengthen family bonds. I also provide gamification trainings, consulting services, and produce content in this field. I lead the alumni community of Girişim Savaşçısı, which brings together graduates working on social entrepreneurship projects. At GamFed Türkiye, I actively take part in gamification education and leadership roles. I'm also giving trainings in the field of AI awareness — and I'm excited to explore how it can be integrated with gamification. Stay in the flow!
