WIN THE WEEK.
Success tomorrow starts today. Look ahead at your week and identify where obstacles may arise: extended time out of the house, social events, late nights, early mornings, visitors, busy schedules. Once you see them, plan for them. Time block. Pre-track. Set your water out. Put the book by your bed instead of the phone. Do the hard things early. Whether I’m in a challenge or not, this is the lifestyle I live. Is it perfect? No. But success rarely comes from perfection — it comes from intentional effort. For me, tonight looks like this: • Looking at what’s already in the house • Making sure fruit and veggies are ready for snacks • Taking ground beef, ground turkey, and steaks out of the freezer for the week • Setting up my protein coffee lifeline ☕(Phormula-1 Cafe Latte + collagen + unflavored Dermaval) • Identifying my bedtime early in the day • Filling my 40oz water bottle TONIGHT and putting it by my bed for tomorrow • Time-blocking my entire day When will I: • read and do my prayer / time in the Word • film Thrive30 workouts • run • do kids drop-offs/pickups • eat meals Yes — it takes effort. Everything you want to focus on in life requires effort. I also look ahead to the weekend already: David working, the boys have soccer, and I’m running a half marathon. All positive things — but still potential obstacles if I don’t plan ahead. Planning doesn’t make life rigid. It makes your priorities possible. Went ahead and did some meal prepping for the week (taco meat, ground turkey, breakfast sandwiches). Fruit/yogurt/veggies ready to go for the week for easy grabbing in the mornings. Picked Ellie’s outfits for the week. Picked my outfit for tomorrow. Laundry is pretty much caught up. Getting everyone bathed and ready for an EARLY bedtime because time change is hard on us 😂
I cannot stress this enough...
If you’ve been around here for a while, you already know one thing I will never stop talking about. Protein. Because muscle is the key to longevity. Not aesthetics. Not the number on the scale. Muscle. Muscle supports: • metabolism • bone density • blood sugar regulation • injury prevention • independence as we age If your goal is a long, capable, high-quality life, protein matters. A lot. Regardless of age, gender, or specific goals, a good standard is: 1 gram of protein per pound of your ideal body weight. Don’t overthink this. For me as a 5'3" female athlete, my sweet spot is 127–137 lbs, so my daily minimum is 130g of protein. Truthfully? I’m over that about 80% of the time and almost never under it. Not because I’m perfect. Because I’ve built systems that make it easy. Here’s why prioritizing protein matters so much: You stay fuller longer Protein is the most satiating macronutrient. It helps regulate blood sugar Which means fewer cravings and less of that afternoon crash. Your body is largely made up of protein Besides water, protein is literally one of the primary building blocks of your body. It drives body composition I weigh about the same as I did 4 years ago… …but my body composition is completely different. Now let me be clear. Yes — you can hit your protein through whole foods. Chicken Eggs Fish Steak Greek yogurt And I eat all of those. But let’s be honest… Doing that every single day can get hard… and boring. This is where high-quality protein supplements become a tool that makes consistency easier. For me personally: ☕ Protein coffee daily I never miss coffee… so this makes protein effortless. I have been STRUGGLINGGG with all the sickness and having very little appetite, BUT Ive been close or have hit my protein goals most days due to the tools you mentioned above!!!
End of Challenge
This challenge has been CHALLENGING…I had a minor surgery at the end of January and I swear my body was like RED FLAG and my poor immune system has been in the dumps since. Recovered from surgery to turn around and get COVID or the flu, recovered from that barely to turn around and get some sinus infection/cold, and I am JUST now recovering from that. I am BEYOND frustrated because the first 4 weeks went so well and the last 4 weeks were…something. ANYWAY, I wanted to celebrate my wins, I tracked my food 98% of the time, did get AT LEAST one workout in each week, and have done pretty dang good on my water intake each day. I can be a little disappointed because life happened, BUT I can also say I am doing a lot better than I was a year ago so SMALL WINS. The scale has also came down, but I 100% expect it to go back up because I have had 0 appetite 🫣 I AM SO PROUD OF ALL OF US! For continuing to show up and want better for ourselves and our families, even when life shows up and knocks us down. We keep getting back up 😊❤️
