Vns: Promising Results For Treatment-Resistant Depression Highlighted
Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) and Treatment-Resistant Depression. The RECOVER trial utilized VNS for TRD over two years. A 52-week, double-blind phase was followed by a 104-week extension. Active VNS yielded 27.4% remission vs. 12.3% with sham at 52 weeks. After 104 weeks, remission reached 45%, with a 67% response rate. VNS reduces IL-6 and TNF-α, and upregulates hippocampal BDNF. VNS enhances synaptic plasticity and improves HRV. https://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/appi.ajp.20220792 https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/41529263

I have a Vagus Nerve Stimulator aka VNS for seizure control. I also have dealt with depersonalization and derealization. Turns out stimulating my vagus nerve not only stops my seizures. This also makes it possible to feel emotions and connections to life and people in it again. I sat on my sofa and drank myself half dead for 5 years just to numb my detachment issues. About a year after I was implanted with VNS I realized I was starting to feel emotions and connections to life and people in it again. So I got sober. Today I have over 13 years sober and I have a life beyond my wildest dreams.

@Sterling Cooley I can atest that stimulating our vagus nerve like mine is, stops any euphoric high you get from alcohol and or drugs. I have plenty of experience with this. My last drunk I git so drunk I fell into a piece of furniture. I kept drinking because I could not get the euphoric high. I had noticed it months before this though. I have had to take pain meds for surgery recovery. I never felt the euphoria you feel when taking pain meds. The only thing I can attribute it to is our vagus nerve calms us down. So some how stimulating this nerve like mine is my vagus nerve balancing out my equilibrium. It almost feels like our vagus nerve is what is spreading consciousness thtoughout our and bodies. Our vagus nerve goes through our gut. 90% of our serotonin originates in our girls. Serotonin is the feel good juice in our brains. Well if our vagus nerve is moving along smoothly through thyroid. Our vagus nerve is considered the "Superhighway" between our brain and our gut. If our gut is pleased it is telling our brain via our vagus nerve. They will be implanting VNS with people who chronically obese
Vagus Nerve Stimulation: A New Hope For Stubborn Depression?
Feeling blue, even after trying ALL the usual sunshine pills? Turns out, our trusty vagus nerve might have a trick up its sleeve! Think of it as the body's chill-out remote. A recent study showed that zapping this nerve can lift the fog of even stubborn depression. After two years, almost half of the participants found their smiles again! It's like giving your brain a gentle nudge, waking up its happy chemicals. Plus, it seems to quiet down inner inflammation. A few hiccups like a froggy voice were reported, but nothing too scary. So, could VNS be the unexpected hero in the depression story? Maybe it’s time to give that vagus nerve some love! https://www.empr.com/news/lasting-benefit-seen-for-vagus-nerve-stimulation-in-treatment-resistant-depression

I developed encephalitis in both temporal lobes and hippocampus of my brain. This left me with amnesia, seizures, dementia issues, and a nonstop state of depersonalization and derealization. Science discovered stimulating our vagus nerve can stop a seizure on the spot. Which is why I was implanted with my Vagus Nerve Stimulator aka VNS. Turns out stimulating my vagus nerve not only stops my seizures. This also makes it possible to feel emotions and connections to life and people in it again. I would have welcomed death at one point in my life. Today because of stimulating my vagus nerve I have a life beyond my wildest dreams. Our vagus nerve is where our love, empathy, and passion comes from.
Unlock Vagus Nerve Power: Gut-Brain Connection Simplified
The vagus nerve is the gut-brain axis's main conduit. It governs digestion, inflammation, and emotions. This bidirectional pathway links gut microbiome and brain function. Think of it as a walkie-talkie system. Gut sends signals, brain responds (and vice versa!). Vagal tone reflects parasympathetic efficiency. Heart rate variability (HRV) tracks it. Low vagal tone correlates with anxiety and IBS. Enhanced vagal tone builds resilience. Omega-3s, fermented foods, and polyphenols boost vagal activity. They modulate microbiota and reduce gut permeability. Improved vagal tone stabilizes mood, balances immunity, and supports metabolic health. A happy vagus means a happier, calmer, healthier YOU. Brain-gut connection simplified! Read the prepared module to see the connection for yourself ! https://www.skool.com/vagus/classroom/e0e30f75?md=5f553877b0394600ada7c0e839177a42

I have a Vagus Vagus Nerve Stimulator aka VNS. My vagus nerve gets battery volts sent to it every 3 minutes in 30 seconds intervals and has been since the year of 2011. I am literally never hungry. Stimulating my vagus nerve is telling my stomach I am full. I eat to stay alive. My thyroid is in first gear too. I could just look at a cheeseburgerand start burning it off. I lost over 30 lbs. after installation of my VNS. I have mine for seizure control. For those who are not aware that science discovered stimulating our vagus nerve can stop a seizure on the spot. I also never had an athletic bone in my body before my VNS. Today I am running marathons and competing in triathlons. Are vagus nerve goes through our heart and lungs. This is assisting in regulating my heart rate and breath so I could run 26.2 miles. They will be implanting VNS with people who suffer with heart disease and asthma because of these reasons. They will be implanting VNS with people who are chronically obese because of these reasons. I also have dealt with depersonalization and derealization. Stimulating my vagus nerve not only stops my seizures. This also makes it possible to feel emotions and connections to life and people in it again. Our vagus nerve is where our love, empathy, and passion comes from. Our "fight or flight" nerve. I would have welcomed death at one point in my life. Today because of stimulating my vagus nerve I have a life beyond my wildest dreams. My VNS is implanted in my chest just underneath my left collar bone. There are wires attached to it that are pushed up my chest into my neck. They wrapped the wires around my entire vagus nerve. My VNS is battery powered. It powers up every 3 mins for 30 seconds. It can detect a seizure before I am aware I am about to have one. It will start up immediately and stop my seizures. Also I do not have tonic clonic seizures aka Grandmal Seizures. I have Simple Partial Complex seizures. They call them "Aura" seizures. You would not even know I am having one. I do not lose cause. Also our gut produces 90% of our serotonin. Serotonin is the feel good juice in our brains. Our vagus nerve is considered the "Superhighway" between our gut and our brain. So if our gut is not pleased it is telling our brain this via our vagus nerve.
Experience
So Sterling I am becoming totally fascinated with microtubules. I really have no idea about any of the science behind it. However I am enjoying the conversations between you and Stewart. After I listen to some of Stewart's lectures over and over again. I am starting to pick up on stuff. I also am loving my ultrasound!! I do 2 treatments a day on both sides of my temporal lobes. I do this is on the medium frequency. After listening to Stewart's lectures I realized that ultrasound is repairing the microtubules in my brain. Potentially consciousness originated microtubules. If mine were damaged by encephalitis then this explain why i deal with Depersonalization and Derealization. I asked Stewart and he assisted with my settings. I also use it on several other spots of sore muscles. I do this on the highest frequency. I will honestly say I believe the ultrasound is doing its job. I do feel more connected. Not in the kind of connections of normal day living. Life seems more vivid and more awareness. It is tough to describe in words. You feel it. So call it psychological or not (no pun intended). There is definitely elevation in my mood.
Microtubules and memories
Ola Sterling. Quick question. I am watching a Stuart Hameroff lecture on YouTube in regards to microtubules. He was chatting about the relations between microtubules and memories. Theoretically if I do have microtubule damage in my temporal lobes. Them let's say my ultrasound on my temporal lobes is repairing the damage. My question or thoughts and suggestions is if ultrasound could potentially make it so I can start making new memories? My dreams of getting my past memories back is just a pipe dream. So after long dissertation just your thoughts and suggestions. Thank you and hope all is well.
