Bow Ties on Short Sleeved Shirts
Hello Gentlemen! I understand that ties with short sleeved shirts are a style faux pas, but what do you think about a bow tie with a shirt sleeved shirt?

I personally wouldn’t. I haven’t worn a bow tie for several years but I always paired it with a long sleeve button down shirt when I did.
100% Cotton Clothing Care Advice
I’m finally getting into the knit polo game and I want to make sure I take good care of them. These shirts are going to be my daily drivers but I can’t imagine washing them after each use will do them any good long term, even on a cold delicate cycle and hang drying. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

@Michael Polletta this is awesome to hear! My best friend and I were in band together as well and we are 20+ years strong! My high school directors were really influential for me.

@Shawn Moran thank you!
Looking for honest feedback to elevate my style 🙏🏼
Full context: I am 5’11” and 145 lbs. I’ve been gradually elevating my style for the past 10 years or so and this picture is what I’ve landed on currently. I am a school music teacher and band director so my daily attire has become ribbed polos, quarter zip sweaters, fitted and tapered pants, and white or brown sneakers. My day-to-day teaching keeps me on my feet and I move across two different schools and a number of classrooms so I am always on the move. The attire that I’ve landed on in the picture suits me really well for that, but I am genuinely looking to elevate it. I’m looking into knit polos with different collar styles, and I’m looking into different shoes like Chelsea boots and chukkas and loafers. Me personally, I really like the taper of my pants that are more form fitting and that leave a little bit of ankle showing. It is a style that I would not have felt comfortable wearing 10 years ago, but I have really grown into the confidence of that style having worn my pants like this for several years now. Even with my current attire, I would say that I am slightly overdressed than most other male teachers that I work with. I live in Central California, so we can have really hot temperatures from spring all the way through fall and really cold temperatures around December and January. My interchangeable wardrobe is built around my current attire in the picture. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all!

@Steven Hotchkiss I really appreciate this! I really enjoy wearing loafers. I also think I’d be open to wearing full length pants to have them sit nicely on Chelseas or chukkas for the colder months.

@Srini A I really like this! I’d like to have some pants that are more relaxed fit to wear with Chelseas or chukkas. I’ll be 34 this year!
Ease into the Week
The warm, earthy palette—rich burgundy, cognac brown, and charcoal—creates a grounded, confident aesthetic that feels both refined and approachable, perfectly suited for a polished yet relaxed setting. The suede boots and leather jacket echo each other tonally, establishing cohesion through texture while anchoring the outfit with a rugged sophistication. The gold-accented watch acts as a visual bridge, tying the warmth of the jacket and boots to the deeper hues of the shirt, while subtly elevating the overall look with a touch of classic luxury. Finally, the tobacco-forward fragrance mirrors the same warm, slightly smoky richness, completing the ensemble as an invisible layer that reinforces the outfit’s mature, composed character.
