Sometimes the first picks are still the favourites
So one of the very first fragrances I purchased when I started my fragrance journey was Burberry Hero EDP. Doing some chores and renos around the house today. And wanted to have something that I could at least smell good while doing it, so I reached for this tried but true fragrance and it never disappoints. I doubt I'm the first to be high on this one, but it's a very good fall and winter fragrance. In fact, the whole Hero line is quite good. Even as my collection continues to expand, it's nice to go back to the ones that you fell in love with first. Like an old book or comfy t-shirt - It just fits! I always get a hint of A&W Root Beer, and that's a high compliment as I've always loved that spicy herbaceous smell of fresh A&W root beer in a frosted glass that might be th le insence in this one Otherwise woody with pine and cedar that's dry and not too sweet or overpowering.

SOTD: Invictus EDT by Paco Rabanne 14/10/3025
A modern classic, released in 2013, it took not one but 4 perfumers to perfect thos iconic fragrance. With Its "trophy" bottle & bold, athletic marketing immediately set it apart. Veronique Nyberg, Anne Flipo, Olivier Polge and Dominique Ropion were the team and individualy they were responsable for some other well known fragrances, Eternity, Luna Rosa Ocean, Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif & Flowerbomb respectively. My first step into the Invictus line was actually the Platinum flanker, which was soon followed by the equally delightfull Victory, before returning to the og. Invictus EDT is a "woody-fresh" fragrance with a clean, energetic & slightly sweet scent. It comes across as a bubblegum infused marine type scent. But here is also a duality of fresh & warm notes that give it, its attention-grabbing aroma. The fragrance opens with a vibrant, citrusy & fresh blast of grapefruit and a unique marine accord. This creates a powerful sense of freshness and energy. As the scent settles, a sweet, aromatic heart emerges with notes of bay leaf & jasmine. The bay leaf provides a slightly green, herbal spice, while the jasmine adds a subtle floral sweetness. The dry-down is where the fragrance gains its depth & warmth. It features a woody base of guaiac wood with a touch of a warm ambergris accord. This provides a subtly salty, musky, animalic nuance. It gives an overall impression of a sporty, clean scent that is mass-appealing. For an Eau de Toilette, Invictus offers impressive staying power, typically lasting anywhere from 6 to 8 hours on the skin. This makes it a reliable choice for a full day of wear. The fragrance has a powerful projection, especially in the first few hours. It can easily fill a room and leave a noticeable scent trail. While it can be worn year-round, its fresh and aquatic nature makes it particularly well-suited for spring and summer. It is an excellent choice for those new to fragrances or for anyone looking for a dependable and crowd-pleasing option.

This is always a good scent!
SOTD/Review: Lattafa Teriaq Intense
The opening hits like walking into a warm spice market: saffron and bergamot cut through the air, then cinnamon and plum liquor follow fast, sugary and boozy. In that moment, you smell something rich and velvety, almost edible. The heart unfolds with amber, benzoin, and tonka bean, bringing in creamy sweetness and a soft waxy glow, sweetened further by honey-like warmth. Finally in the base, there’s a lingering blend of vanilla (not noted), resinous amber, patchouli, and musky vibe that hugs the skin but still trails in the air just enough. Projection is impressive - strong for the first 2-3 hours, easily noticeable at arm’s length, turning heads without needing to spray overboard. After that, it softens a bit, but never dies; you still leave a warm cloud behind. Longevity? I get about 8 hours on skin, sometimes more on clothing, especially if I let it macerate a while. I’d rate this 8.1/10. It is another Angels’ Share inspiration, but more closer to Lattafa Khamrah but the plum liquor in this makes this more fruitier, overall I guess Lattafa like creating Angels’ Share inspirations. Teriaq Intense though isn’t shy - it’s bold, sweet-boozy, and built for cooler nights or special evenings. If you like scents that demand attention, this one delivers.
