My updated book cover based upon great feedback to the first cover.
Can you all take a look at this new revised cover and give me some frank feedback regarding: - “What kind of book do you think this is?” - “What stands out first?” - “Would you pick this up—and why or why not?” Thank you so very much!

The main issue I see is the drawing in the lower right corner. You have a checklist sitting on top of the drawing, but the kid in the green shirt is on top of the checklist. If it were a real drawing, it would be under the checklist.
Hardcovers - dust jacket or case laminate, matte or glossy
My last half dozen books started life as dust jacket hardcovers. For those I used traditional and hybrid publishers. My most recent book is self published, and it started life as a paperback. But what I realized is that it feels less premium than the hardcovers. Not as good for gifting to clients. So I am releasing a case laminate hardcover via Amazon, since it is easy. I went for matte (vs glossy). But I’m also debating releasing a version with dust jacket through IngramSpark or a small print run company like 48hourbooks or Lulu. Which do you prefer: case laminate or dust jacket? If the former, matte or glossy? If the latter, who do you use to print small runs? Thanks!

I just watched a YouTube video talking about Amazon KDP hardcovers. I'll include a link to it below. In short he recommended going with matte finish for paperbacks and glossy for hardcovers.

@Stephen Shapiro You're welcome. Let me know how it turns out. I plan on doing a hardcover for my book as well.

Hey Roger, I'm the broker of a small real estate brokerage in Tennessee. I currently don't have a podcast, but I would be interested in collaborating as a guest if you ever want someone to talk about real estate.
Working with a Small Budget. Best Tips & Tools to Use?
Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a few months. I watched most everything I have access to and am looking for any advice or recommendations on formatting my book. I am using Reedsy, and I see limitations with it. Just realized I will need more than it can offer. I am self-publishing on a small budget. What are your recommendations?

I'm in a similar boat with trying to keep everything on a budget. I plan on using ProWritingAid to help with some of the editing and plan on using Dibbly Create for formatting. Anyone have any experience with using ProWritingAid or Dibbly Create?

@Julie Broad yes I was planning on using the affiliate link. I just started using ProWritingAid. I’m pretty impressed with it. It’s AI so you have to correct it a lot but it’s working for me so far. Lots of really good reports you can run.

Congratulations! Really like the cover. One of my favorite sayings is I don't have enough crayons to explain it to you lol.
