How do you really identify that a fragrance is fake.? I feel like this is not taught enough 😭😭😭💔💔💔

Been saving it for a special occasion and finally broke it open. Had a Decant for a while and finally got to the full bottle. Had a lunch meeting and pulled out the bug guns, I love this one. Very mature and distinguished, long lasting of course. Picked it up at the Amouage store in the Mall of Dubai in 2022, paid full price but was my souvenir from my first time visiting Dubai.

Just saw it at Ulta and tested it. Off the bat very fresh and green. Dry down, is pleasant, strong Invictus vibes little sweet. Younger mans fragrance, good for the club or going out. Good for us 35+ for informal fragrances, not good for work or being serious. If you have teen girls will drive them crazy if you wear it, bonus points of you have your wife call you “Daddy” in front of them while wearing it. Update after all day - *Pass* do not recomend

I recently picked up a bunch of decants that on paper seemed perfect for me (the note breakdown, and literally when I sniffed them on a paper strip) but then when I tried wearing them, on skin they just didn’t do it for me. I have a few that I know are right off the list - I’m already getting rid of them (buh bye, Ganymede Extrait and Renaissance). Then there are some that I *want* to love, but I’m not sure I can bring myself to commit. Sort of the fragrance equivalent of that super hot lady you’re on a 2nd date with, you already know her a little bit and seem to be connecting, things are going great, but… you can already see the red flags… and you’re not sure there should be a date #3. But she’s really hot… Top of my list for this scenario is Sauvage Elixir. I’m really liking the warmth, richness, and cacophony of spicy notes. But… I feel like there will be drama in my future if I pull the trigger and get a full bottle. Anyone else ever feel like this?
