Team Juice or Team Smoothie? šŸ§ƒšŸ„•šŸ
Both have a real place in a whole food plant-based lifestyle, and honestly I love them both for different reasons. And just to be clear, when I say juice I'm talking about fresh pressed vegetable and fruit juices like celery juice, green juice, beet juice, and carrot juice, not the bottled stuff or a glass of OJ from concentrate! Fresh juice is like a fast pass for your cells. Because the fiber is removed, your body can absorb all those concentrated vitamins and minerals almost immediately. It's a great choice when you want to: šŸ„• Flood your body with nutrients without taxing your digestion šŸ„• Give your gut a little rest šŸ„• Support your body in reducing inflammation Smoothies are different, and why I usually choose these over juices. You keep all the fiber, which means steady energy, better digestion, and something that actually keeps you full. They're also the easiest way to pack in greens, seeds, and plant protein without even thinking about it. Smoothies are great when you want to: šŸStabilize your blood sugar and avoid that mid-morning crash šŸFeed your gut microbiome šŸHave something filling enough to count as a real meal Neither one is better than the other. They just do different things for your body, and knowing when to reach for each one is a small but powerful piece of plant-based wisdom. So which one are you? šŸ‘‡

@Nadia Quraishi I actually love using fresh pressed apple juice as my liquid in my smoothies lol best of both worlds in one!
I’M CURIOUS ABOUT THE STORY BEHIND THIS CHOICE.
I’m finding myself more and more interested in plant-based eating. It feels like more than just a diet — more like a conscious decision or discipline. šŸ‘‰ What made you decide to go plant-based? I'm genuinely interested.

@Gwynne Conlyn I was full on carnivore for years before I became a vegan. Medicated and pretty sick. I honestly thought I was broken. Most people fail at being raw or becoming a frutarian because they don't eat enough, and don't eat enough of a variety. I would say that I'm curious as to what they ate. There are many deficienct and sick vegans (same with carnivores, like how I got). I eat the rainbow.

@Gwynne Conlyn best advice ever!
My meals lately
I've been prioritizing blood sugar balance and one thing that's made a big difference is starting my meals with a big salad, or making salad at least half my plate, like dinner tonight with air fried tofu. Eating the greens first is one of the best things you can do for blood sugar stability. The general guidance is to eat carbs last, though I'll be honest, when I'm having rice with lentils it gets a little tricky to separate the two! One more habit I've been consistent with: a 10-minute walk after most meals, even if that just means walking in place at home. Do you follow any of these? Drop a comment and let me know if you'd like to learn more about the science behind it.

Something shifted for me this week and I have a feeling I'm not alone
The weather has been so much nicer lately and I have genuinely been outside more than I have in months. Walking with my husband, getting fresh air, just moving my body without it feeling like a workout, and honestly my mood has been completely different because of it. There's something about this time of year where everything just feels a little more possible. Like winter had us all a little cooped up and now we're collectively coming back to life. So I wanted to check in with you all. Are you feeling that shift too? Are you getting outside more, moving your body in ways that feel good, noticing a difference in your energy or your mood? Drop it in the comments and tell me what's been making you feel good lately, whether it's a daily walk, time in the garden, morning coffee on the porch, anything counts. 🌱 Let's hear it šŸ‘‡
