How I Learned the Hard Way That SEO Really Matters
Hi everyone I'm vergie, i quickly share somethings with us I’ll be honest for a long time, I didn’t take SEO seriously. I thought, “I’ll figure it out later.” I was focused on creating content, posting, doing all the things… but not really thinking about how people would actually find what I was sharing. Then one day, it hit me I had good stuff out there, but hardly anyone was seeing it. That’s when I realized: it’s not just about doing the work, it’s about being found. So I started learning, tweaking, and doing things the right way using the right keywords, structuring my content better, understanding what people are searching for. And slowly, I started to see the difference. More eyes on my content. More engagement. More growth. Now I can say this with full confidence: if you’re creating anything online and you’re not paying attention to SEO, you’re missing out big time. Don’t wait like I did. Start now, even if it’s just learning the basics. It’ll pay off trust me.

Been in the game 10+ years and SEO does not print money like it used to, but is extremely important. This is what consistant invenstment in SEO looks like (Backlink Building, keyword optimzation, technical seo, content marketing. etc..)

How to improve Ad Rank in Pmax/Shopping
I started digging into ways to increase our Impression share and have already implemented supplimental feeds to test out title changes for products to see if we can increase impressions/share that way. Now I started digging into Lost IS (Rank) metric to see where we are loosing impression share due to Ad Rank. Here is my question - how do you improve Ad Rank on a tROAS PMax Feed Only / Shopping? Only things I can think of is: - Better images for better CTR - Optimizing Titles for Searcher intent and optimizing page content to match - CRO Any thoughts here? Thanks in advnace James

Thanks for the feedback and insights @Joey LeClear I dont pay attention to Google optimization scores, but I DO pay attention to impression share, because if we want to scale via Google ads we either need more impressions for converting searchs or more impression share for the good terms we are already showing for. So if I want to grow the channel by 50% then I need to go from 30% impression share to 45% share to do so - correct me if I am wrong here.

Yeah I get it, I track total MER of all channels and profitablity of our ads weekly. That way I can track to see if we are actually making more money in our pocket as we try to scale of ad revenue. Anyways, thanks a lot for the input
Pmax -Ad Rank
Since Google changed how Performance Max (PMax) campaigns are ranked in Google Shopping—now using ad rank instead of prioritizing PMax by default—my PMax performance has dropped significantly. If I set my Shopping campaign priority to "low," will that help shift more traffic back to my PMax campaign?

From my experience, yes. It actually DOES take in to account the prioirty you set in Standard shopping vs Pmax now, where as before it did not. On a related note, you should start tracking what % of time you are looisng impression share due to ad rank.

@Joey LeClear with that being said, what else can one do to increase Ad Rank outside of lowering ROAS targets / increasing bids?
Biggest time waster
What’s the biggest time-waster in your PPC process right now? Been thinking about this lately… For me, it used to be rebuilding the same campaign structure across accounts over and over. Total brain drain. Finally built a system around it and saved a ton of time. Curious what’s slowing you down? Not selling anything—just want to get a feel for the most common bottlenecks. Might share some solutions later, but for now just listening. Drop yours below 👇

Yeah I use ChatGPT to work through the lists, but it is not ideal, there is just a lot of nuance
Issue with Google Ads PMax Campaigns Attracting Bot Traffic and Overspending
Issue with Google Ads PMax Campaigns Attracting Bot Traffic and Overspending I’m currently facing a serious issue with my Performance Max (PMax) feed-only campaigns on Google Ads. Despite working with a highly experienced agency—who has a proven track record of over $100 million in revenue and 5+ ROAS with other clients—our campaigns are suffering from what appears to be bot-dominated traffic. Symptoms: - 99% of clicks appear to be from bots: Unrealistic click behavior with no engagement or conversions. - Extremely low CPCs (e.g., €0.01–€0.03) despite running high-ticket products (luxury segment in Germany). - Unrealistic impression spikes: Massive impression and click surges often occur within the first few hours after midnight. - Budget drain: Campaigns frequently overspend their daily budget limit (DSL) within a very short time, with no meaningful traffic or results to show. Background: - I sell high-ticket products in Germany and rely on shopping ads for qualified traffic. - This issue started after my Google Merchant Center (GMC) account was suspended, due to a false flag claiming there were "no products" on the site. - We contacted Google support, who reviewed the case and confirmed there were no actual violations. Our GMC and products were reinstated. - To be safe, we switched to a new Google Ads account, which initially performed well for about five days. After that, the same pattern re-emerged—huge traffic spikes, bot-like behavior, overspending, and no real conversions. What We’ve Tried: - Switching ad accounts - Working with a top-tier agency - Verifying all merchant/product/account setup issues were resolved - Contacting Google support (no clear answers so far) Request for Help: We’re at a loss here. Even with experienced help, everything seems to be technically correct, yet the campaign performance is entirely unrealistic. It behaves like a bot farm is targeting the feed-based campaigns. Is this related to: - A shadowban or flag on the domain after the temporary GMC suspension? - A structural issue with the PMax campaign or targeting logic? - An underlying security or tracking problem? - A Google-side glitch or system abuse?

I'm curious what people say here as well, we've seen this on some of our accounts

And of course Austin has a video on this: https://youtu.be/bnCClII8s4I?si=FXYMseJcKQ6OlrOG I would say these are a start, but I've still seen suspicious behavior even with all this boxes ticked
