Heavy squat/zercher holds
Hi guys, due to long term knee and low back issues, I am unable to do any kind of deadlift and squat for the time being (I'm working hard on my rehab but I'm definitely not there yet). Although those dynamic movements are not possible, things like zercher holds, front rack holds, and similar, are possible. Do you think that they have some kind of value in terms of physical preparation? My long term goal is to get back to CrossFit some day, and generally to build a more resilient body. Thanks!
Saturday night Q&A!

Lots of people cannot curl with a straight bar (and some even with an EZ bar) because of wrist/forearm pain: do you think it is something that can be changed with some mobility training, or are some people just made like that?
Open format Q&A
ask me anything, doesn't have to be related to a specific topic. Could be training or business related

What do you think of taking an off week when feeling burnt out and when accumulating lots of minor injuries?
Hybrid training
Hi guys, quick question Let's imagine that my focus is only on building strength and endurance (no plyos/sprinting/olympic weightlifting), all the sessions are separated by 8-10h to minimize interferences. Do you have some experience on gaining strength (especially upper body strength) while being on a quite high volume of endurance training (10h/week)? I have the impression that most of the "hybrid athletes" are just former lifters that started running/cycling way later when they were already strong Past the beginner phase, is it realistic to improve both strength and endurance significantly at the same time? I'd say that it shouldn't be a problem for endurance but strength looks harder Would the solution be to cycle during the year to put more emphasis on endurance or strength at some point?

@Jack Somerville My goal is to build a very good aerobic base that I can transfer later (maybe in 1 or 2 years, I need to repair my body first) to Crossfit (for now my body will not allow putting lots of weights for lower body exercises, so in the meantime, upper body training is much more exciting), so it doesn't matter that much the modality The thing is that I don't tolerate high volumes of running for now (and at the moment I got shin splints so it's close to 0, but I'd like to tend to 3 weekly hours in the future), and getting better at cycling requires way more time, especially now that I've passed the beginner phase

It's just that I've been blocked since October around 100kg on the bench press (ok maybe closer to 102.5kg now), and that's exactly when I started doing lots of cycling My programming was shit and often random because I struggled a lot to fit everything in my training, so that might be the main explanation, more than interferences

Hey, I'm Hedi, 27, from France, I started back training seriously about 1.5 years ago I've had tons of knee issues in the past and my low back is quite fragile right now, so I aim to strengthen them while building my cardio base (bike, running and rowing/skierg when my back will allow it) to be able to come back to CrossFit safely someday I train twice a day 6 days a week most of the time 👍
