Control feels safe.. until it doesn’t. For most of my life, I tried to control everything. Results. People. Conversations. Even how I felt. It wasn’t about being right.. it was about avoiding outcomes I didn’t want. Keeping chaos at bay. Convincing myself I was being “proactive” when really, I was afraid. But lately.. something’s shifted. I’ve been practicing acceptance. Not the kind you talk about when you’re trying to sound spiritual.. The kind that makes you actually sit with things you don’t like. Accepting emotions. Accepting results. Accepting how people show up.. and realizing.. it won’t kill me. What’s wild is how much lighter it feels. The fear I’d been fighting was only an inch deep and a mile wide. Once I stopped resisting it, it dissolved. And the side effect? Presence. Real, grounded, productive presence.
