Gunning Fog Index for better writing at LITERALLY ANYTHING
Hey Guys, just wanted to share it because it helped me immensely at my cold calls scripts and my ad copy. And shoutout to @Hunter Larson as he mentioned it in a coaching call. This index basically tells you how complicated or hard something it to read and therefore the overall level of grade of speaking. Most people talk and perceive things on a Gunning Fog Index of around 7, so it absolutely makes sense to write everything in marketing with a Gunning Fog Index of 7. How??? Copy and paste your text into ChatGPT and tell him to rewrite the text in a Gunning Fog Index of 7. Literally do it with every script, ad copy, message you send, as it sound's the nicest, and you will be best understood.

@Hunter Larson What compelled me to understand what Gunning Fog index is not that i want to write a better copy. But the dope choice of words to represent a concept: “GUNNING FOG INDEX”
How to make the most out of 100 dollars for fb ads?
Hello! Nice to meet ya'll. Seems like a great group of people! Before asking my question, let me give some backstory. I am running a social media agency and I have 1 client that's a painter. He's letting me learn the craft of ads and social media growth with his company and social media pages, so he is not currently paying me because I have not gotten him any clients. I have been working on his facebook/instagram/google business profile for the last 2 weeks, optimizing it and making it look much better and active again. Now, I am going to run ads for him starting on monday. My question is, the painter only gave me a budget of 100 dollars for the fb ads, how can i get the most out of these 100 dollars? I have many pictures and videos of him working that I can turn into creatives, but what should I expect with only 100 dollars for ads? I want to get him more clients as soon as possible, so the painter can put more money into the ads. I also know theres the new andromeda update as well, which made making ads different. Thank you if you read this and responded, I really appreciate. I actually started the agency a little bit more than 2 weeks ago! I hope everything is going well for yall in your journey of this business.

@Junior Castro The Painter you are dealing with is just acting like a Painter and doesn’t seem to have a business mindset. He is a skilled tradesperson who is making some money but not yet ready to change his mindset to turn it into a proper business, and that’s reflecting in the ad spend he has allocated you.
Agency owners built a Limousine, but they’re still the driver
Since I started in the SMMA space, I’ve realized most agency owners don’t really own a business. They own a job… with extra stress. At $10K–$30K/month, they’ve built a limousine, but they’re still driving it. Running ads, replying to clients, fixing automations. And the truth is, as long as they’re the ones keeping it moving, they’re self-employed, just fancy freelancers. The more they drive, the less they can see the map that leads to the life they wanted. No time to think, grow, or lead a team. They wanted money for freedom, but the more clients they have, the less freedom remains. They should move to the back seat, closing deals while enjoying the ride. When I ask why they don’t hire someone to handle service delivery, like a driver for their limousine, I always hear: 1) “I can’t find qualified people.” 2) “They won’t deliver results like I do.” So they keep doing everything themselves. The same pattern repeats: They hire a closer → get more clients → get busier → hire random “assistants” without clear roles → stay trapped. When I ask what their long-term plan is, they say they’re “not thinking about selling.” So I ask, “Will you work in your agency until retirement?” and they admit they’ll probably just close it once they’re tired. After all the effort, stress, and years building their limousine, they’ll throw it away the moment they get bored. If you build your limousine the right way, you don’t need to drive it, you just need to let your team do it. If you stopped working tomorrow, how long would your agency survive?

People lack systems perspective in order to create an automated business. But what comes before a systems perspective is a Business Profit Strategy. Exploring, finding and creating a profitable business model is the first thing and as @Uncle Jimmy Mitchell says; you have to mechanical in starting phase of your business because you don’t know if what you are building will work and produce something valuable for you client. SMMA is a well known profitable business model. People are running an Agency but forget that agency means outsourcing the fulfilment of your productised services this can be due to the lack of systems perspective that they built their agencies the wrong way.
Uncle Jimmy, Does It Really Work to Build a Cold Calling Team Overseas on Commission?
Hey @Uncle Jimmy Mitchell I see a lot of agency owners trying to hire people from places like the Philippines, India, Africa, etc. The logic is that these reps speak good English, have a decent accent, and can hold a conversation. But here’s the concern: - Does it actually make sense to hire and train them for cold calling if they’re only on commission? - Cold calling is tough — business owners get calls daily, and just following a script with good English isn’t enough. - Motivation can drop quickly, and if they quit, all the time and training invested goes to waste. So, what’s your take?👉 Does this model even work long term?👉 How would you approach building a reliable cold calling team?

@Emmett McCarry Here’s a simple hack for finding great cold callers. (Speaking from experience) I’m from a Southeast Asian country, and when I recently applied for a cold calling job at a local marketing agency, I met two or three people who were really good at it. The surprising thing? These guys were totally disconnected from the online money making world (by online world i mean appointment setting, high ticket sales, they have no knowledge of these things like these) — meaning they had amazing skills but were being paid way less than they’d earn in the international market. That’s when it clicked for me: if you can find talented people like this and connect them to global opportunities, you can build something valuable — even start your own cold calling or outreach agency. In the end, it’s all about making smart mental connections — linking people, skills, and opportunities across different worlds. Many skilled people are underpaid simply because they’re offline and don’t know how to reach better opportunities. To give some perspective — these local cold callers were dialing U.S. businesses not to book appointments, but to close sales on the first cold call. Coming from the SMMA world, where I understand the sales process and appointment setting, it was tough to watch them call for 8 hours a day and end up with almost no results — maybe 1 or 2 sales after an entire month, all from straight cold calls with no meetings or follow-ups.
