What are you working on, any blockers ๐Ÿšงor challenges?
Hey Fabricator! Itโ€™s another tuesday and WE (aka the whole community! ) are curious to know : - What are you working on? - Any blockers or challenges youโ€™re up against? These could be in a project at work, a pet project, or something in your learning journey. Thereโ€™s a good chance someone in the community has tackled something similar or has a fresh perspective. So donโ€™t hesitate to share in the comments, or feel free to make a separate post if youโ€™d like more focused feedback. No blocker is too small to ask for advice on, so FEEL FREE TO SHARE ! Looking forward to hearing what you are up to!

@Abdulrahman Yabroudi how did you deploy report? Did you use a deployment pipeline? Is your report pointing to the right semantic model still?
Steps to build Deployment pipeline for notebook and lakehouse
Hey All, Recently I have faced a challenge while deploying notebook and lakehouse to different workspace. Challenge was, though the items were getting deployed but the notebook was not connecting properly to the newly created lakehouse in other workspace. I saw a similar challenge faced and raised by @Matt Roberts, https://www.skool.com/microsoft-fabric/deployment-of-fabric-items-across-workspaces?p=7719fbd2, so I thought it would be helpful if I post the learning I had around this issue with everyone. In the following image, I have listed down all the detailed steps with screenshots, which worked for me in getting through this issue., which you can follow along to build the deployment pipeline. If it is not much relevant to you, this could still be a good hands-on to try out the Deployment pipelines. Cheers๐Ÿฅ‚

Any idea how to this for a semantic model? I'm struggeling to find the right parameters to set my custom semantic model to the PROD lakehouse
The fastest way to (really) learn Fabric
The DP-600 exam is great for giving you an appreciation for a wide range of topics, but does it really prepare you for life as an Analytics Engineer? From speaking with a few of you, it seems you don't feel ready or comfortable yet, which is completely understandable! The DP-600 tests your understanding of the theory, but in the real world, you are measured by your experience and ability to build solutions (how you can apply the theory). As such, I always advise for people to get hands-on as early and as frequently as possible. One of the best Microsoft resources is this list of hands-on exercises which guide you through a number of scenarios, and help you build confidence with the different tools that Fabric provides. Have you tried these resources yet? Let me know what you think! PS: I'm thinking about building a collection of hands-on tutorials which cover a lot of the core analytics engineering/ data engineering (and maybe wider?) tasks that you could expect in your career - would you find that useful?

A collection of hands-on tutorials would be super useful, great idea!
The summer lull
After quite a busy period with lots of new releases at MS Build, I think the summer period will be a lot quieter for new releases from the Fabric product team (because of holidays!). It's a pretty good opportunity to: - take a break! - catch up on the features you think are important, but didn't have a chance to explore yet - learn something new What are your plans for the summer period? Anything you want to learn in particular?

Catching up on my Fabric knowledge

@Will Needham I am currently reading up on data governance & security measures and capacity & workspace design. This really goes hand in hand so it is interesting to learn how design choices impact the security and data governance. But it is also a very broad theme and difficult to get a complete overview of all the options and best practices.
Issues with Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics
I'm trying to use Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics, but I received the notification as shown in the image. What is causing this, and what steps should I take to resolve it?

Oops, I accidentally left out the last number of the CapacityID, causing the system to fail in retrieving the correct data ๐Ÿ˜… It took me a while to figure out this was the problem, but I finally resolved it by updating the CapacityID through the following steps: 1. Navigate to Apps. 2. Go to Fabric Capacity Metrics. 3. Click on the three dots (...) and select Settings. 4. Choose Semantic Models. 5. Go to Parameters, this is where I could correct the CapacityID. Now, I am looking to connect a second capacity to the app. Does anyone know how I can do this, or where I can find more information about it? ๐Ÿ˜‡ Thanks in advance!
