Friday WINS!!
We may slack on our routines during the summertime, but one thing that will always be a part of our routine ‘round here is—sharing our weekly wins! 🎉 You see, routines work when done consistently. Likewise, sharing our weekly wins with one another also only works when done consistently! Let me explain: ⬇️ The practice of consistently and frequently celebrating ourselves does more than just give us a quick dopamine hit. It changes your brain, friends. Every time you celebrate yourself, your brain feels good and looks for ways to feel that feeling again; hence, why results breed motivation… In order for this to work, however, it has to be done consistently. Trying something “every once in a while” doesn’t change your brain; however, new neural pathways are created over time when you consistently practice something for an extended period. And that’s exactly why celebrating weekly wins every Friday will always be a part of our routine! 🎉 TAKING ACTION: - Let’s celebrate, friend! Share your weekly win below! Start making this part of your routine today! 🎉

10 Steps to Successful Routine
No video today, friends. On Thursday, we talked about all of the reasons why having a routine is important. If you missed that post, go back and check it out now. 👌 The overall point is that while building new habits and routines isn’t the easiest thing to do, they ultimately make your life a lot easier! While building a routine may feel a tad difficult in the beginning, the fact is that these habits eventually become—well, habitual. They become a part of your life, and you don’t even have to think about it! 💯 If you struggle with consistency, decision fatigue, procrastination, and even reaching long-term goals, a routine is your golden ticket, friend! Again, we’re closing up shop on summertime soon, and it’s important to build your routine now that’ll carry you successfully through the next several months! School is starting soon, and there’s never been a better time than now! Not sure how to build a routine or where to begin? Check out the tips below! ⬇️ How to Have a Routine You'll Keep: 10 Practical Steps TAKING ACTION: ✅What is one thing (or one habit you’ve built) that you never thought would be a part of your routine, but now that it is, you can’t imagine your life without it?

We’ve been talking about expansion this week, as summer is the perfect time to open ourselves to new ideas, opportunities, foods, and even workouts. While it’s perfectly acceptable to completely take the day off, activities like yoga and/or Pilates are great practices to lean into on rest days. Why? Well, for numerous reasons, but one in particular is because they’re expansive. 🧘‍♀️ Yoga and Pilates both require us to open our minds, hearts, and bodies through mindfulness, breath control, posture, and meditation. Again, they’re both very expansive practices – and since we’re scientifically more expansive during the summer months, giving both of these a try this summer is a great healthy habit to begin. ✨ I encourage you to try one of our yoga or Pilates workouts today, especially if you haven’t done so in the past. I’ll post a yoga video in the comments. However, before we get to that, you know what we have to do first… 🎉 CELEBRATE YOUR WEEKLY WINS! 🎉 TAKING ACTION: ✅ Take a moment to celebrate your weekly win below! Also, comment on the person above you, and let’s celebrate one another today! 🎉 ✅ Don’t forget our first zoom meeting for June is this evening at 7 CDT / 8 EST!!

Reducing Inflammation
If we’re going to talk about reducing inflammation, we must also talk about reducing stress. I know what you’re thinking… “But summer means less stress.” Not so fast, friends. Did you know that research indicates that stress levels are often higher in the summertime? 🤯 Warmer temperatures lead to a rise in stress hormones. Biologically speaking, this is the main reason; however, there are also other factors such as kids being out of school, more travel (which can induce stress), etc. Because stress increases inflammation, this is another reason why summer is the perfect season to focus on reducing inflammation. As we’ve learned this week, because of the warmer temperatures, inflammation is often highest during the summer. Building healthy habits that mitigate inflammation now will have a domino effect throughout the rest of the year! 🙌 We’ve learned this week that our diets directly impact inflammation – and now you know that stress does, as well. Check out the link below to learn more about the link between inflammation and stress and what you can do about it this summer! ⬇️ The Link Between Stress and Inflammation TAKING ACTION: ✅ Do you feel more or less stressed during the summer months? ✅ Are you moving your body today?! 💪

Friday WINS & Fun Fact Friday!
“Treat every small victory like you won the Super Bowl.” ~Lewis Howes We’ve been talking about reducing inflammation all week, and while celebrating small victories or wins may not directly affect inflammation, doing so certainly reduces stress – and as you’ll learn tomorrow, stress is directly linked to inflammation. 💯 Speaking of celebrating your wins, I want to focus on celebrating non-scale victories (NSVs) today! When you pay attention to and celebrate your NSVs, you’re taking a more balanced approach to overall health. Rather than focusing on the scale, you’re focusing on true indicators of health and/or progress! You’re also improving your emotional well-being, which is critical for long-term success along this journey. And in case you haven’t heard, a sustainable and balanced approach is what it’s all about around here! Today we celebrate, friends! Consider an NSV you’ve had this week and share it with us below! 🎉 TAKING ACTION: ✅ Share your NSV with us below today! Remember, NSVs are great indicators of healthy changes! 🎉 🤯 Fun Fact Friday..... Did you know… Your gut bacteria can influence your food cravings — and even hijack your brain? Researchers have discovered that certain microbes in your gut can send signals through the vagus nerve to the brain, manipulating your taste preferences and cravings. For example: - Some sugar-loving bacteria can trigger cravings for more sugar — just so they can feed and multiply. - Other microbes may produce neurotransmitters like dopamine or serotonin to reward you for eating what they want! So the next time you’re suddenly desperate for that donut... it might not even be you who wants it. 👀 🦠 A balanced gut = more balanced cravings = more control over your health. If you want to know how your gut health is, we can run a GI MAP...just shoot me a message for more info!!
