Creating a good #voiceover demo is a challenge for many #voiceoverartist. A decade ago most #voiceactor would have never even attempted it. We were told to go and pay a âreal professionalâ to get it done. A decade ago you would have spent upwards of $5K to get a 60-second commercial voice-over demo. I have said since the beginning of my career that 2 things would happen and people literally laughed at me. Now it has all come true. What I said over a decade ago was⊠The home studio would become huge and king Every voiceover artists needs to become something of an audio engineer Now when it comes to your demo. I want you to think about this. If a âprofessional demo makerâ makes your demo and you put it out to the world then you are saying that you can produce that same exact sound. Could you? If you are just getting into voice over then you want to make sure that the demo that you put out there is completely reflective of what you can produce. Now, this process of demo creation is simple but not easy. But I am firm on my stance that you should be able to produce your own commercial voice-over demo. You can learn to do this and I will show you how. What we will do is⊠đ Come up with an original script written just for you đ 5-8 scripts that can show your range and talent đ I will help you do your professional read so that it is spot on đ Together we will edit and master that demo All of this will be recorded just for you on video using your DAW so that you can always refer to it to create great audio every time. I truly want you to get over this hump of creating your demo and lose the fear of it now sounding right. The total process of us working together to⊠đ Come up with an original script written just for you đ 5-8 scripts that can show your range and talent đ I will help you do your professional read so that it is spot on đ Together we will edit and master that demo All of this will be recorded just for you on video using your DAW so that you can always refer to it to create great audio every time.

They want to own it to be able to do what they want without having to pay you more. For instance when someone puts a commercial on a radio station they are paying fort a number of plays over a certain amount of time. If they want more plays and more time they pay more. This is why you can sell commercials rights and broadcast rights as a separate price
I have a small business of my own where I do a lot of videography for weddings and other events. I have bought everything from voiceover work to logos on Fiverr. Those that use Fiverr when someone messages you about a job and you make them a custom offer. Would you then message then 2 minutes later with another offer for needing more money. I am trying to figure out if this is normal on Fiverr. This makes me feel that itâs almost scam like. I offer you letâs say 20 bucks to get you in the door and then do the bait and switch to get more out of you. Any thoughts on this?

That is not a good practice at all for a seller on fiverr to send an offer and then send another to get more money.

@Victor Johnson thanks đ
Forgot to post a photo of my set up.....Duh! So here it is. Like I say she may not be the prom queen but for now she gets the job done. And yes I stand up. When I started They started us standing up. the thinking was the you get a better range from you voice. Just in case your wondering there's a folded thick towel under it and two thick towels over it and behind it. My thinking was create an area that stops as much sound as passable. There is my Kindle standing up where I copy what I need to read. My lap top in open three drawers down. so the fan doesn't interfere with the sound. And the mic is set near the side and slightly sideways. so I have to talk toward the side and back of the box. you can see my headphones on top of the box, so I don't have to look all over when I start to lesion to my recording. the test3 recording I hit it with ns1 wave. Amp. Eq, presets total time 20 minutes. This was because I set and saved my presets. I want to get my time down on editing my work. preset are the way to go.

Hey Bill. Yeah we need a longer sample of like at least 30 seconds
This course is a VO's Gold Mine, there's something here for everyone, the beginner as well as the intermediate. The lessons and group discussions are step by step easy to understand and will make you dig in, do the work and find the Content Creator in you. You will walk away and "Go Live"...with hands-on input on your own Freelance and Social Media platforms. It's all here, everything that you need to in your path to a successful voice over career. I've been floundering for a while on my own in VO but now, I have a solid foundation and a clear path. I started following Earl Hall 2 years ago because he is willing to invest in the VO community, I'm striving to build strong VO skills and produce great audio, I'm getting that and more knowledge with the Grid and Don't Quit (GADQ) VO family network. I Highly recommend this course.âââââ

@Rhonda Foster you are a real go getter and an inspiration to be around. I am looking forward to watching your VO career grow!!!
I got motivated and finally found the perfect space to treat and put together a sound booth. It's a small storage closet in the basement but it will work for what I need. I stopped here for the night, but next, I'll be moving my essential equipment in for the right spot to record in. Here's a few pictures of the beginning and end of the project for now.

This is awesome Bill!! How have you executed on this over the past week? This is an outstanding perspective!
This class is wonderful, the amount of information gain far exceeds the purchase price. The first week gave me insight in how important social media is in daily interaction, let along how powerful it is in business transactions. The second week provided details on how the freelance platform Fiverr works and how it can be used to acquire clients and build you voiceover presence and career. Great sessions, can't wait to get to next week! Well worth the money!

@Ben Brown I see your enthusiasm every time we are on a zoom session. Your dedication is very evident. #GRINDANDDONTQUIT
We are two weeks in on the Steps to Voiceover Success Voiceover Domination classes. Challenging in more ways than one but absolutely beneficial. Each session has its own moments of "Yikes, can I do this, or "What am I doing here?" At the end though, so much is learned and I pick my chin and my attitude up off the ground and get back to the #grindanddon'tquit. Earl offers so much more than the curriculum. And it's not just talking, it's the experience that I can apply to my efforts to create this career. Next time the doors open for this opportunity, if your serious and not curious, walk into Voiceover Domination.

WOW! I am so impressed with how you are digging in and actually executing from the curriculum. I am super proud of you Ruth!
Doing a little work on my studio this morning đ. Like most people that are a #contentcreator I love improving and upgrading to enhance the experience of my audience. I mean this is who we do it all for right? In this #creatoreconomy the #audience must come first. It took my some time to honestly hone in on that. It is definitely all about the audience and the #value we bring to them đ€ #earlhallstudio #grindanddontquit

Hi all! I'm not sure who might benefit from this but I wanted to post it. I know a few people in our community told me they used an acting coach. Here is a website I found that has online sessions. We're now in a digital world so I guess it's par for the course. https://takelessons.com/search?service=Acting&focus=group&location_type%5B%5D=location_online&timeZoneId=America%2FChicago

@Anthony Reed have you tried them out? What has your experience with them been?
Greetings all yesterday I received an email , that there was a company that reviewed an audition I submitted for . The radio advertisement was for a healthcare service provider in the southwest region of the united sates. Their message was that they liked what they heard and wanted me to voice their ad However they were having issues getting the script down to a 30 second or less read. They sent me the script... As I read it I got real chills and was on the brink of tears!! I began to think back on when I started, my fears , my limitations, was I good enough etc. in that split second I got a warm feeling, the reservations passed and the real me arrived. I thought of all the preparation, all the due diligence, all the naysayers and supporters alike..I leaned on my train and experiences. I thought of this group and what each of you and your journeys mean to me and what they have done to enable me to push..."TO GRIND AND DONT QUIT" I proceeded to the script like it was. the difference between a win and a loss... I recorded 2 versions a version of 29.1 seconds and a version of 26.9 seconds with a proposed edit to shorten the read. The client LOVED what they heard, requests the 29 second version.. EVERYTHING DONEFOR INITIAL CORRESPONDENCE TO RETURNED , APPROVED VO IN UNDER 35 MINUTES!!! I received payment , a 5 star review and the review is as follows "Michael W. provided files faster than they expected" This isn't a Michael accomplishment, THIS IS AN EVERYBODY IN THIS GROUP ACCOMPLISHMENT!! APPRECIATE THIS FAMILY

Since the recording environment is important I have been looking into building my own âHobo Fortâ. However, space is a bit of an issue for me. So I have been looking into building a small âHobo Fortâ. I thought I would share my thoughts with you. My current idea is as follows: 1. Get a âBXI Portable Sound Recording Vocal Booth Boxâ (https://www.amazon.co.uk/BXI-Portable-Sound-Recording-Vocal/dp/B09NZY9SRC) 2. Using some blankets to cover the back (and my head) when I am recording. Something like Sure-Max 8 Moving & Packing Blankets - Ultra Thick Pro - 80" x 72" (65 lb/dz weight) - Professional Quilted Shipping Furniture Pads Black : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CJHH7J8 Ultimately the result will look like the picture in Step 8 on this site https://rachelcorbett.com.au/blog/diy-voice-over-booth/. What do you think of this idea? Do you think it would be suitable for voice over? I would appreciate all advice offered regarding this.
