I’ll be sharing some resources on habit building, adding more talks in response to your questions and challenges. How To Participate: 1: Pick one habit you want to release 2: Share it in the community: beginning with, "This May, I am breaking the habit of...." and a bit about why you are choosing that habit - Perhaps adding what you will do instead! (under the ✂️ Break The Habit Challenge category) 3: Support others by commenting and showing up for them What Habits To Break: Anything that’s no longer serving you. - Substances: Intoxicants, sugar, or anything you’re using to numb, escape, or cope - Behaviors: Risky, avoidant, or self-sabotaging patterns - Self-Worth: Saying yes when you mean no, Letting boundaries be crossed, Putting yourself last 4: Through out the month, share with the community what is working and what isn't. We are starting soon, who is in to release something (break a habit) this May? My what and why: I will be letting go of sweet treats as a way to self soothe. Not all desserts etc, but just the use of them as a mental crutch when I would prefer to be using other self care strategies. You? @Aaron Romero @Avraham Bekhor @Ashley Cantrall @Adam Grey Smith @Adelaide Noblekind @Alexandra Bakogianni @Allison Hansen @Ana Ramos @Bec Connell @Billie My @Biyinzika Joshua @Brenda Schmitt @Brittany Kujak @Christopher Bauer @Cain Meier @Campbell Wyers @Carol Schultz @Carolyn Drevets @Chris Fletcher @Cheree Peffer @Christopher Bauer @Ciara Thomas @Danakeli Perrry @Daniela Zerbini @Daniel Long @Daphane McIntosh @Dhaval Mehta @Di Mak @Dmytro Melekhov @Dela Miller @Ebru Vatanseven @Elera Evora @Emily Ray @Ella Emerson @Erika Fritz @Fabián Alfonso

@Biyinzika Joshua :) what will you be quitting?
Breaking the habit
Ok this May I am going to work on breaking the habit of picking up after my kids, and I feel it's helpful to say what you are going to do instead, so instead I am going to take the time to get them to pick up after themselves more which often takes more of my time :p but will be worth it

It certainly will be! Lets work on this one together :)
How Is Your Habit Serving You?
If you are looking to release (quit) a long held habit, it is important to recognise what that habit is doing for you. Ask yourself, what is it helping you to feel? Or perhaps not feel? The first step is awareness. Become aware of the intricacies of what you are doing and why. Then accept it. This is truth and denying it will keep you trapped in the loop you are currently stuck in. Finally take action to substitute the habit with something less harmful, more value aligned, or perhaps introspect (perhaps with therapy) to see what is at the core of the habit. Starting May 1st we are doing a breaking the habit challenge, click here to join!

How Is Your Habit Serving You?
This May, I am breaking the habit of sweet treats (to regulate)
I am finding that I am using chocolate and sweet treats as a default regulation response before I go to my other tools like meditation. When stressed I find myself mindlessly consuming for a good while before my brain kicks back on and I realise. So this may I will be breaking the habit of using sweet treats to regulate. I will still consume them, but only when I am mindfully choosing to do so, but not in response to stress. Wish me luck! Ps: you can check out the challenge here

@Tami Sunshine Awesome! Have a think about what you will like to release and share it in the community :) Hopefully we can help one another. Last night I did go to eat a sweet treat to regulate... I recognised that pull and did not stop myself, then felt guilty/icky after. Something to work on. I need a behavior/response to deploy in response I think!
