@Angela Walker Oh, gotcha!! Yes, I think EVERYONE has a story within them. It just comes down to if they really want to share it or not.

@Angela Walker yes I understand that! Just remember, “not right now.” Ends up turning into years. And many thought that same way and never got their story out. It’s making it worse when it feels impossible, that makes it happen. Many authors have busy lives, yet they are still able to create their books. At the beginning of their career, many of them had busy lives, even chaotic situations. But they pushed themselves to do it. They saw the benefit of going through the turmoil to get there.
I’m gonna share something I reckon 99% of business owners wouldn’t…
Why wouldn’t they? Because they don’t wanna be judged. They don’t wanna look like they’re wobbling. They don’t wanna admit something feels OFF. They wanna keep the pretty-in-pink picture rolling where everything is EPIC AF 24/7 and nobody ever has a grumpy thought or a “hmmm this ain’t sitting right” moment. No cracks. No dips. No honesty. But nah that’s not me. I don’t run my business on pretending. I run it on INTEGRITY. My values run the show, not my fear of what someone might think about me if I say the slightly uncomfortable thing out loud. So here goes then I’ve been feeling a bit deflated in business lately. Not about my skills. Not about what I’m good at. Not about my clients. I know what I’m epic at It’s the landscape For example. I totes love Skool. It’s fricken awesome. I’ve met epic humans on there. I’ve grown things on there. No shade to the platform. But I joined a community that was all about sharing and promoting your business. More eyeballs, more visibility, woopity woop, let’s go. And yes, I know how to stand out in those spaces. I’ve had members and clients from them. That’s not the issue. The for me issue is this… There was one. Then two. Then about 77 doing the EXACT same thing. Same threads. Same “drop your link.” Same surface-level promo energy. Same vibe, just different logos etc etc… And I’m sat there sacrtching my head thinking… why am I in 77 versions of the same room when one would do? So yeah that’s grump number one. Grump number two is the fast-growth hype train. “I got 1,000 members in 7 days.” “We hit 5k this month.” Brilliant. Clap clap. Then you step inside and it’s tumbleweed. Or worse, engagement bait posts that mean absolutely gaff all. And then the owner disappears. The hype dies. The group goes flat. And I’m like… if it was THAT strong, why did it collapse the minute the noise stopped? That’s not community. That’s momentum marketing pfffttt Grump number three, and this is where I’m being properly outspoken, is this obsession with NUMBERS without DEPTH. Member count. Follower count. Screenshots. But where’s the damn connection? Where’s the implementation? Where’s the leadership once the hype stuff settles?

Woohoo! 🙌 you rock for saying it! It’s all about the connections! that’s how we truly grow and the numbers, that’s all they are! I love that you opened up about this and feel similar to how I do when it comes to a community. Keep rocking it!
Shaking off the frustration.
This space is honestly really weird some days. I have been trying to be super consistent with being active daily and work my way up to a consistent 50 daily activities... it's slow, but I've developed a habit of logging in everyday so that's progress. However, I was hoping the engagement would drive Membership requests. It hasn't. Then I see that in 4 months, someone is at $445 MRR and pushing for $1200 over this next quarter. Do little to no lead generation activities. Sometimes I look around and think... Mann people out there are seemingly just touching it and it turning to gold. Now granted, it's only been like a week since I've started trying (again). But does it feel like, to anyone else, that some people just "have it"? Lol

@Cody Killian since you said it’s a self-help, many people see it’s harder to invest in themselves than towards a business or something else. Did you create the community to turn it into a business? Where do your people come from? Have you promoted it in some way?
Hiya!
I’m building a community as I make the jump from Australia to Copenhagen - From the planning stage - To the first holiday - To eventually making the full move I’ve made the decision to actually change my life and this is where I’m documenting the process as it happens! And i want you to do the same! come in and share your goals, journeys and updates along the way with a supportive community Inside you’ll find - Essays about life and the world - Original stories in the form of - Special Presentations - A bit of philosophy - Hopefully some decent banter - support from a great community - And updates from the journey as it unfolds. Mine and yours! It costs nothing to join Worst case you forget about it. Best case we build something pretty cool together Just getting started so come grow with me https://www.skool.com/todays-episode-9155/about -Taj

Cool and thanks for sharing! Sounds like a fun space!
New member, Hi!
Thank you for letting me in. I am Miko leading Stumpwork Embroidery and More. I teach others how to make 3D embroidery accessories. Each class is five dollars. I’m still working on my first one: Make a Hydrangea Necklace. But it’s half done and purchasable. Looking forward to seeing you there!
