How was your Thanksgiving weekend?
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving (for those of you in the US). Between the food, family, and time to slow down… this time of year always gets me thinking about the people who shaped who I became. A lot of you know this, but growing up without a father wasn’t easy. I was lucky; I had an incredible mom who did everything she could. But not everyone gets that kind of support. That’s why 11 years ago, I joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida. That’s how I met Zach. At first, I honestly wasn’t sure if spending an hour or two with him each week was even making a difference. Years later, he wrote me a letter that changed everything. He told me I helped him stay on the right path. That he looked up to me. That I showed him what doing the right thing looked like. And that’s when it really hit me: Sometimes your presence is the thing that changes someone’s life. Now that Giving Tuesday is around the corner, I want to do something meaningful as a community. For every $500 donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters, a new match gets supported. That’s one kid getting the mentor they need. So here’s what I’m offering in exchange: → For every $500 donated, I’ll give you a free 1-hour coaching session. → If you choose to become a Big Brother or Big Sister, I’ll give you 3 hours of coaching. This is my way of giving back, not just to the organization, but to all of you who’ve supported me, trusted me, and built this community with me. My goal is to raise $5,000 to support 10 new matches. We can literally change lives together. If you’d like to take part, whether by donating or by becoming a mentor yourself, here is the link to do it: https://www.cflbigs.org/donate-online
