Why I left my job as an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
Medicine is a complex system, which can consume you faster than you know. It doesn't matter on which side the consumer or provider it swallows you, if you're lucky you save yourself before it's too late. It's a system with no regard for the individual, despite many articles, academic aristocrats saying otherwise. The patient is the goal. But it also the means, the sacrifice, the currency, the collateral... I am lucky, I saw through the veil, through the hidden handshakes. And for the sake of my health, my family and my future clients, I made a choice to follow my own path. That is my philosophy: adapt, improve, create. But let's dissect some of the reasons that ultimately contributed to my choice to leave a secure job in a public hospital. Unsatisfied personnel In the last few months, I rarely had the privilege to talk to someone, who was satisfied with the job or was happy to have a job in the hospital. The paycheck was low. Patients and relatives were frustrated and angry on a daily basis. Every week the workflow was dialed to the max. The nerves were tense like string on a guitar, but the melody was not pleasant. But the leadership was blind to the fact that this was the new „normal“. They were also pressed to fulfill the year's quota and to juggle with the personnel that they have. Which lead to... Many nurses and support personnel quitting their job Those who had enough found a job either in a less burdened environment or in a completely different field. Those who could not leave their job, because of their financial situation took more sick days than usual, which left more work hours to the others. Entering a vicious cycle, which will continue to the collapse of the system. A system of quotas and numbers In our country it was determined by the only state insurance company, how many doctors visit and how many procedures can be done within a year. So the hospital stopped some procedures or ambulatory visits at the end of the year, because if they did more than they were allowed to do, the surplus of procedures would not get paid by the state insurance. This resulted in more relaxed work space at the end of the year in some areas, but ultimately it all came back, right after new years eve.

Wow. What a story. But more than that David, what a courageous decision to move on from such a huge investment and find a new way to apply your intentions. Wishing you continued success as you continue to adapt, improve and create.
When was your last stroll in the forest?
Birds chirping, fresh musky air, a sense of tranquility. Away from the noise, away from the technology, recharging yourself instead of your phone. A practice called shinrin yoku. Forest bathing. It acts as an immune booster. Your mental health and mood will be thankful. Lowering your blood pressure and stress levels. I think that many of our problems arise from the severed cord between us and nature. Nature is calling us back. When we don’t listen, it amplifies the calls. If we disrespect nature, it shows us what it thinks about that. The most sick, ill, broken people have long forgotten nature and the natural. I may sound like a hippy, but imagine where does your food come from? Name any kind of diet, it all comes back to nature. The better we treat it, the better produce we have. Isn’t that our goal? Sustainability? We have remarkable knowledge to work with nature, produce quality food and work less hard then we do know. See the food forest community. But why forest bathing? Forests are mystical places, a place for imagination, a place for daydreaming, a place for escape. You can enhance your experience by meditation, grounding and camping. You can do it alone or have a deep conversation with your favorite person. The trees also act as a natural barrier from nnEMF. Something we yet have to grasp its effect on our health. Helping us mitigate the effects in such a short period, when we are in the forest. The scents we are experiencing can reduce our stress hormones, elevate natural killer cells, it also affects adiponectin, a hormone responsible for diabetes, obesity and other metabolic syndromes. Therefore, being in nature, close to trees or in the forest can cause weight loss. Also regular forest bathing sessions showed improved sleep patterns. Which is an overall indicator for your general health. Without quality sleep, you can’t expect excellent general health. So, the next time you don't see a way forward, are stuck on a problem, need a detox, experience anxiety, take a chance, find a spot where you can unplug from the craziness, get a fresh perspective and continue conquering the world.

Insightful post David. Several new things I learned reading it. (Who knew the forest contributes to weight loss ?) Couldn't agree with you more! I've noticed for myself, there is a big difference between being "on" nature and being "in" it. It's a difference I can feel.
My Top 5 "Woo-Woo" Spiritual Practices that have helped me sell over $25M in Consulting, Coaching & Courses
1. Subconscious Selling We are all connected. Whisper your intent aloud, and handle objections in advance by connecting with your prospects sub-conscious mind before any sales call. 2. God Mode: Vision You can either perceive life like everything is a miracle or nothing is. God Mode is a way of looking at life and people. From the God Mode paradigm you call people into their greatness… because you are standing in yours. 3. Unbreakable Belief People are not buying your coaching program. They are buying a future version of themselves. And in the moments of decision they will be faced with fear, doubt and worry… it is your confidence and unbreakable belief in your program or offer that bridges the gap for them to say Yes. If you don’t believe in what you are selling no one else will. 4. Clear Intent My intention is not to “get a sale” my intention is for people to make empowered decisions. Full fuck yeses or full fuck nos. I am unattached to the outcome and trust in their ability to choose the best option for them. 5. Zero Fear I don’t shrink away from saying the uncomfortable thing or challenging prospects on their beliefs, objections or excuses. My desire to be of service must be greater than my desire to be comfortable. Want to learn how to sell in a soulful way and build a $50k per month coaching business?
