Safe travels brother!
What a day!
Yesterday was St Nicklaus day. Since my son was a little boy the doorbell has rung and the wooden shoes he put out were filled with candy etc-every year- even when he was in college his car mysteriously had candy in shoes or boots. Even the past couple of years at his and his wife’s house 30 minutes away, St Nick knows the way. We are big St. Nick fans in this household. The real St Nicklaus (or Nickolas if you prefer) is fascinating. Yesterday my wife and I and drove to my son and daughter in laws’ home in a different sleigh. St Nick out did himself putting a key in the wooden shoe to a 2024 Tacoma with only 18k miles! My daughter in law conspired, with and was “helped by St Nick ” to pull one over on him. Her parents came and after the surprise we helped the kids with their leaves. My first OOTD was my Filson wool hat, my Filson Fieldcoat, Orvis fleece lined khakis, Orvis Gloves, red long sleeve polo, Fermanagh Co. tartan scarf. After the tasks my son’s in laws and we all went to the German Chriskindle market then on to my favorite Irish pub in Tulsa- after that Anita and I rushed home to change. St Nicklaus was the anniversary for my best buddy Tim’s Wedding anniversary. His son Watson chose to celebrate that day for his wedding party. Having lost both his father and grandmother in the same day a month ago and his mother only a year earlier it was a very very special get together. He has been my son’s best friend since they were three and the three bands that played (not including mine) had 16 people with whom together I’ve performed. Night time OOTD was my 1997 Royal blue MTM, a CT white w blue stipe shirt, a two bar bow tie, a Robert Talbot silk waist coat, MacQuarrie tartan kilt, wool cable knit green hose w/ red flashes, AE shell cordovan British tan brogues, Dobbs wool hat, custom leather sporran. 1/3 of crowd in cowboy hats; 1/3 in velvet dresses or suits; 1/3 in kilts. My Buddy Tim would have been very proud. Happy St Nicklaus days brothers (and community sisters)

Everyone looks great! Kilkenny's, I presume? I'm originally from Broken Arrow and when my younger brother's and I are in town we meet up at Klikenny's. Such a great atmosphere.

25 Oct 31 - 4th-Year Wedding Anniversary
Last weekend we attended the Phantom Feast hosted by the Minnesota Renaissance Faire. We've attended the faire for over a decade and always attend the Fantasy Feast each year as well. The feasts consist of a 2-hour show with assorted acts from belly dancers to knife throwing. The Phantom Feast is hosted during October and runs through Halloween. This year is our 4th-year Wedding Anniversary, which is October 31st. I always buy tickets on launch day (April) to ensure we have reservations. Niki and I wanted to do something special for Jess on her birthday, which is also Halloween. We didn't think of this until late June and were surprised there were still seats at our table. Win! John and Jess attended our wedding in 2021, and we also provided Jess a birthday cake and gifts, regardless that it was "our" day of celebration. We also insisted that meals were provided to the hosting staff, the DJ, photographers, videographer, and bartender. All which were provided a seat at our Long Table. The wedding hall was long enough to accommodate enough tables to seat 60 people. We didn't do individual tables for "groups". Anyway, back on track,. From left to right: Jim Cunningham, a local thespian who performs locally, myself, Niki, Jess, and John. They flew in from STL a couple days earlier to attend. We kept the surprise a secret since June; however, we gave J&J snippets of how to dress. I told John that I'm always over dressed for this event; and he and Jess could dress as they wished. Whether Halloween costumes or t-shirt and jeans, they both opted to wear what you see in the photo. I always wear the Prince Charlie ensemble for our anniversary and it was a great feeling seeing our friends coordinate their outfits with mine and Niki's. I just wanted to share how the last weekend went, and hope that others had a great holiday as well.
