🪄🕯️ What I Learned Building the 7 Steps of Return to Stillness
Over the past few weeks I’ve been building a series of practices called Return to Stillness. It started simply as a way to answer a question people ask me often: what do I actually mean when I say “return to stillness”? As I began putting together a few small practices to demonstrate the process, something interesting happened. The pieces naturally organized themselves into a sequence — seven small steps the body can follow when the mind is busy and the nervous system feels tight. What surprised me most wasn’t the structure itself. It was how simple the process became once I stopped trying to force it. Sometimes the most meaningful frameworks don’t appear all at once. They emerge quietly, step by step, as you follow what the work itself is trying to show you. If anyone is curious about the practices themselves, I shared the first Return to Stillness practice in my free community today. You’re welcome to explore it here: Soul Growth Circle

@Ahmy Brock yes please!
Right… I’ve tried to keep quiet about this but the eye-rolling has reached dangerous levels.
… HOW ARE PEOPLE STILL FALLING FOR THIS SH*T? Question time… because frankly I have to stop myself from full-on eye-rolling at the amount of crap sauce I see floating around the internet at the moment. And look, I could keep quiet about it, plenty of people do… but if I’m going to call out the people pumping this stuff out then I’m also going to call out the people falling for it too, because COME ON… what the actual effers is going on sometimes? You know the type of stuff I’m talking about. The posts proudly announcing things like “make 10K this week using AI this” or “upload your offer to this magical robot strategist and it will tell you exactly what to say and BOOM you’ve made five figures by Friday.” Slight exaggeration there maybe… but honestly not by much. And every time I see it I just think… Are we serious right now? Because look, let’s clear something up before anyone gets their knickers in a twist. Making 10K in a week IS possible. Obvs it bloody is. People do it all the time. The possibilities in business are HUGE and I will never be the person telling you what you can’t achieve. BUT… believing that buying some random AI thing or following a three-step magic formula is suddenly going to make that happen for you? Wake the F up a little bit please for the love of puppies Handing over your power and your brain to something that doesn’t know you, doesn’t know where you are in your journey, doesn’t know your audience, your positioning, your offers, your experience, your voice… like WHAT exactly is it supposed to magically understand? Because the stuff that actually makes those big weeks possible is the unsexy stuff nobody wants to talk about. Your audience. Your trust. Your positioning. Your reputation. A message that is CLEAR AS FCK and actually lands with people. Years of showing up, building something real, being human, saying things that make people think “hallelujah, yes, this person gets it.” An AI bot is not a magic wand that fixes all that.
Right… I’ve tried to keep quiet about this but the eye-rolling has reached dangerous levels.

Thank YOU for calling out the instant AI success b.s. "Make an AI of yourself to do your videos!" was the latest one I got hit with. Man, I looked at an example of that and almost threw up. So creepy! Maybe that would work in YOUR niche, folks, but I help people build and SELL communities. No one is going to trust a robot to guide you while you sell the high-value asset you've built to $30-40K+ in MRR! If the world is about to divide into robot interaction and human interaction, I'm sticking with the people side.

Do THIS Before You Burn Out
Overwhelmed with managing your digital biz? It's hard to do this sustainably, year after year. But I ran a community for 12 years, so it can be done. And when I felt the burnout coming on, I did something few online coaches do. I SOLD MY COMMUNITY. For life-changing money. Is your online business set up where it could run without you? Could you step away? That means someone else could BUY your business, hand you a pile of cash, and you could be free. You could fund your retirement -- or your next big idea. Or would you just close the doors and walk away with nothing? Too many online experts ARE their business. You are the brand. So there's no exit. No way out. Don't let this happen to you! I'm on a mission to help more online business owners position their biz so that if they want, when they're ready, they could sell it. To find out whether YOUR business could attract a buyer, check out my course BUILT TO SELL, inside Community Growth Academy here on Skool. Join FREE and let's talk about how to engineer your business so it really gives you freedom and options: to run it yourself, get it to run without you, or to sell it. https://www.skool.com/community-growth-academy/about

@Shannon Boyer OMG, you so have an asset you could grow and sell here! Feel free to pop in my community and chat about it...

@Mimi Ramsey I wish EVERYONE ON THE INTERNET would build something they can SELL. Otherwise, you have just created a job for yourself and there's no exit, except you just collapse. And have to start again from scratch if you want to start something new. Shouldn't be that way!
THE BEST $1 DECISION I MADE
⚠️ (Yes, swearing included. If that offends you, I’m probably not your jam.) I’m so effin’ grateful I kept THE BACKROOM community at $1. I remember once debating whether to make it free so it could grow faster… but honestly, I’m so glad I didn’t. I keep seeing posts about free communities, especially this one with big numbers and growing fast, dealing with spam, trolls, poop in the comments, people causing drama… moderators spending more time policing the place than actually enjoying the space... That must absolutely suck My community hasn’t grown at lightning speed, but d’ya know what it also hasn’t had? One single dickhead. And for that, I am truly GRATEFUL So yeah… if you’re not a dickhead, you’re very welcome here. Turns out $1 buys a surprisingly high level of HUMAN decency. WOOPING TO THE THE $1 DICKHEAD FILTER 😝

I used to be a total hater of free. I get $1 keeping out spammers, but honestly I haven't seen very many of them since going free in November, and it seems like an autobot catches their posts and flags them for you! It's more strategic. You want people to open their wallets off the bat, $1 is a great way to go.
What 90% of online business owners get WRONG
Is your online business a cult of personality? It's all about you? Here's the problem with that... You're slaving to build a business you can never sell. YOU are the business. Whenever you burn out or get tired of this, you just close the doors. And receive nothing, for all the valuable resources you've built, the live calls where you coached... you get zip. There's a better way to do this: Create branding that isn't YOU, create a community where you're not the only expert... and build a business you can SELL. That's what I did, 2011-'21. Built up a community for broke freelance writers... and it generated about $6M in lifetime revenue. And then... I SOLD IT. Funded the retirement. Bought the RV. Started traveling. If you're here on Skool, you already know community is the best business model. But you may not have realized that one of the reasons that's true is you can SELL your community. IF you know how to think like a buyer about your business. I discovered it's a whole different mindset than we have as founders–but if you can prep right, you can get real money for your business when you're ready for your next phase. I did it... and now I'm teaching others how, at Community Growth Academy here on Skool. Grab the free case study and join our free level, right here: https://www.skool.com/community-growth-academy/about PS This is me at the tile museum in Lisbon. Sometimes, we get out of the RV...
