Welcome to the fun
My first deal as a โ€œlicensing agentโ€
Two things I learned from Travis about structuring licensing dealsโ€ฆ 1. you can come about it from a thousand and one ways, and 2. you can make up your own rules as long as everyone agrees This is a little breakdown of what I did as a licensing agent, or โ€œconnector hatโ€ as I sometimes call โ€˜em, to put my first deal together. BTW this is by no means a perfect example. Far from it. But thought Iโ€™d share to show how one country bumpkin from Arkansas was able to still make it happen using what Travis teaches in this group. I took on the licensing agent role because I like being a connector. Donโ€™t really have my own proven IP. And really enjoy uncovering NEERs for distribution opportunities. ๐Ÿ”‘ So hereโ€™s the key points... Originally I reached out to a guy on twitter to see if had the value bombs he was doling out freely over there packaged up into a course. If he did I wanted to license it out. He didnโ€™t. But I remembered Travisโ€™ sheik and luxury car dealership story and what he said to do if youโ€™re just starting out - ** Get control of distribution first. Then itโ€™s easier to source a product fit. ** The aforementioned value ๐Ÿ’ฃ's the guy shares is about driving traffic to his ecomm stores. Heโ€™s shared numbers before so I knew it was a safe bet he gets a good amount of traffic and customers. So I asked him if he ever wanted a digital product to offer his customers I could probably source something through my network (network being all you peeps in this group). He replied back a yes to that with the name of one his store brands that he could use a digital product for (see the msg pic1 attached). This brand sells handheld hidden camera detectors. We hopped on a call to explore what digital IP would make a good fit. One of the ideas that came out of that call was a security guide for travelers pdf. Preferably by a security authority figure. Funny enough although I made a post here in the group to source a product and received some great ideas, I actually stumbled on an IP partner through happenstance.

Great share NICE :)
2 cheap/free transcribe methods (great for Claude projects!)
These are especially useful for my guidebook producing endeavors. Part of my process to produce a guidebook is transcribing video and audio trainings from a partnerโ€™s course. Then I feed those docs into Claude ai projects. With some back and forth prompting, I can turn out chapters that read like they were written by a real person. These 2 methods wonโ€™t identify different speakers like Otter ai does. So just know that going in. But you wonโ€™t need that function for one-speaker vids anyway. You donโ€™t really need them for multi-speaker vids eitherโ€ฆ at least I havenโ€™t noticed a drop-off in Claude output quality using these transcriptions with unidentified multiple speakers. So anyway thought Iโ€™d share. I have the fantastic @Marcus Karl to thank for showing me this first one. If you have a Slack account, just upload the video file in a slack message and send to yourself. It automatically transcribes after a few minutes. Then click view the transcription and copy/paste into a doc or txt file. The other method is completely free with just a few more steps. Use a free CapCut account to upload your vid. Click the transcription button on the sidebar. Then select the auto-generate captions option. Once the captions complete, just click into the little caption icon where you can download them into a text file. Voila! Ready to upload to Claude. Have another method? Do share.
