SOTD: Vulcan Feu
Enjoying wearing Vulcan Feu today. I have a GOF decant with me and I can really only tell a difference in the dry down at the very end of the scent. The Tonka and moss come out more for VF on my nose whereas the musk of GOF is a little “smoother” to me. But overall a very good twist/clone IMO. Who (I see wearing this): This is a scent I feel anyone can wear. From young cats to us older, experienced guys. I can even see fortunate retired guys and gals wearing this. What (I smell): I get the Mango and Ginger in the top notes most prominently. In the mid the Mango combines with the praline for me but it’s not too overly sweet. As it settles I get the mango and only light hints of the tonka I believe. Where (would I wear it): I’m wearing it all day. It’s great for any outdoor or open setting and the mango smells fresh and clean like a mango body wash. When (would I wear it): I can see wearing this in Spring through fall during the day time. Warmer evenings would be great but when it’s cool I’d probably find something to layer on top of it. Why (occasion): this is something I would personally wear for casual or day to day work settings. It’s definitely inviting and not offensive but I feel it would be cloying if severely over sprayed. Performance (longevity on me and projection): the couple times I have worn this and tested it, I have easily gotten 6-9 hours and maybe a light skin scent around 10. Got a compliment from the Uber driver today too. Sprays: 3 up top, 6 on arm/wrist Overall Impression: I love this for the summer. Today I’m in Phoenix where it’s approaching 100 degrees and going to San Diego later today.

if you like Mango (which I certainly do) they are well worth it. And this one is a cheap alternative to know if you want to eventually get the OG.

@Lon Chaneyfield again my untrained nose thinks it’s that close!🤣. But for the value proposition it’s FBW easily if you like mango. But performance wise it definitely wins.

SOTD: Pegasus by Parfums de Marly
Good Morning Fragrance Family, it is a beautifully crisp morning in the Go. The sun is shining, the air has that clean bite to it, and everything just feels aligned to start the day on the right note. Today is a special one in my household as it is my wife’s birthday, so I let her set the tone for the day. I gave her three options for my scent of the day and she chose Pegasus by Parfums de Marly. That alone makes the wear a little more meaningful. Pegasus holds a special place for me because it was one of my first from the house, and it helped shape my appreciation for that refined, semi-sweet, elegant DNA. This fragrance instantly transports me back to my office days. I am talking about a crisp white dress shirt, perfectly pressed slacks with a crease sharp enough to cut butter, polished shoes, and everything dialed in. There is a professionalism and quiet confidence in this scent that just fits that environment perfectly. In the opening, I get a bright, slightly metallic freshness from the bergamot paired with that signature heliotrope giving it that smooth almond-like, powdery feel. As it transitions, the florals come through in a very refined way, never loud, just supporting the composition. There is a creamy sweetness that develops, but it is never cloying. What really makes Pegasus stand out is that balance between powdery elegance and those nutty, almost earthy undertones that give it depth and character. In the dry down, it settles into a smooth blend of vanilla, sandalwood, and a touch of amber that keeps things warm, slightly sweet, and very wearable. The performance for me has always been solid with good projection early on and a nice, consistent scent bubble that gets you noticed without overwhelming the room. This is one of those fragrances that just works. Office safe, date appropriate, and versatile enough to dress up or down. Definitely a crowd pleaser and a staple in my rotation. I am still giving Pegasus a strong 8.25. It may not be the most complex in the collection, but what it does, it does extremely well.

I have at least three LV Imagination clones but this one is my favorite. I’m finally picking up the OG this weekend. Have a great hump day brothers.

Hectic is a great twist on Imagination! I like it a lot and will definitely be reaching for it a lot this summer. Of my 3 Imagination twists (Marwa and Kobra being the others) I think this one is my favorite right now.

@Ed Prince I like it. It’s a good interpretation. I only have a decant of the OG. Haven’t worn them at the same time. But if I had to rank them, I think it’s second behind Hectic. It develops a little more than Marwa to me. And with my chemistry it lasts longer.
