Kalan by Parfums de Marly
Day four of my Parfums de Marly journey finds me with Kaplan. It is an Oriental Spicy fragrance for women and men. The top notes are Spices, Blood Orange and Black Pepper; middle notes are Lavender and Orange Blossom; base notes are Woody Notes, Moss, White Sandalwood, Tonka Bean and Amber. It’s a wet and chilly morning back on the bayou so I wanted something warm and spicy today and this fit the bill, couldn’t have planned that better.

@Sean Kavanaugh it’s definitely one of those love it or hate it scents. Just like my Fahrenheit 😉

Today at work, we have the after hour Christmas Party of the our buildings complex. The party will be outdoors in the roundabout between our 2 buildings. So, I needed a beast mode, mass appealing fragrance, that could lasted during the day and with great projection. Although this one can perfectly do exactly that, today I brought my fragrance bottle to respray it (I don’t like to take my bottles out from home and I hate decants, but today was necessary 😜.) Wajood is a hidden gem with a stunning scent profile. It’s an alternative to Kenzo Homme EDT Intense. The sea notes here are photo realistic, that along with the woody, earthy and a bit resinous nuances makes this fragrance a very masculine, sophisticated, and alluring powerhouse. It generates a lot of compliments, projection and longevity are wonderful. IMO a must have.

New to my eyes and seems nice. Especially since Kenzo has been on my radar since picking up the EDP
SOTD – Arancia di Capri by Acqua di Parma (Blu Mediterraneo)
Good morning, Brotherhood! Yesterday the sun was shining, and it was a gorgeous day, so I sprayed on some sunshine vibes in a bottle courtesy of @George Hernandez. Thank you brother, truly appreciate it! Acqua di Parma Arancia di Capri was launched in 1999, and it’s still bangin’ to this day. Arancia di Capri translates to “Orange of Capri,” which is exactly what this fragrance is. This is one of the most photorealistic fragrances I’ve ever experienced, it captures the ripe juiciness of a mandarin orange and its rind. It’s a bright, aromatic fragrance with a deep orange citrus opening that makes you feel like you’re walking through an orange grove in the sunshine. Absolutely captivating, in my opinion. As this beauty dries down, the slightest touch of caramel and musk gives a soft sweetness to the orange and adds a little boost in projection. Think back to cruising through the mall and walking past an Orange Julius… you pop in, grab that cold, creamy orange drink, and take a sip. That’s exactly the vibe I get, a total time machine moment. Now let’s talk performance… The first time I wore this, I thought it stopped projecting after about two hours because I couldn’t smell a bit of it on myself. But to my surprise, when I walked in to see my family and gave them all a quick hug, they all said, “Damn T-Bone, you smell gooood!” (That’s my nickname.) Guess I went a little nose blind, which is a bummer because I really love this profile. The second wear, I hit myself with about 10 sprays and got around 4 hours of good usability, with a skin scent lingering for a couple hours more, which isn’t too shabby. Overall, this is a great unisex, situational fragrance that’s perfect for anyone looking for something different from the typical citrus lineup. It’s unique, stands out from the rest, and works beautifully on a warm day with the family or any casual event. I’m giving this beauty a 7.9/10, and it would be higher if it lasted a bit longer.

This is a good bright citrus forward line from this house after sampling a good handful of them not too long ago.

Abraaj / Brackish by Fragrance World — so today I am wearing a discontinued clone of a discontinued fragrance : Brackish by Abraaj which is a pretty much 1:1 of Amouage Bracken Man - we’re talking cloves, cinnamon, cypress, lavender, patchouli; another great fragrance for the cold weather and the holiday season

Polo double black // RL
One of yesterday’s wins. First time getting my nose on this one actually. I do have the black which I enjoy now and again but this takes it to the next level. Something of a notch above 👌🏼. Definitely a bit deeper and less bright. Released in 06’ with what seems like a solid run up until 17’ when it was discontinued. Online it says there’s no official discontinued date though 🤔. Reseller prices don’t seem to be too insane. In similar polo fashion projection isn’t the greatest and longevity is not far behind 🤷🏻‍♂️. DNA though 👍🏼. This is what polo black should’ve been from the beginning, in my opinion. Anyway enjoy the day brothers. Smell great out there.
