Group Question??
I’m trying to figure out what to pay my technicians as I’m growing. Obviously, we have a billable hour that our price book goes off of. For example, if a job is going to be sold and a technician knows, it’s gonna take him four hours he will charge. Our company hourly. Times how many hours he’s going to be there. And then he would add parts and mark it up. And that’s what the price would be. I pay my guys 29% commission. After parts and a 12% truck fee. However, if they do not sell a job at the company hourly. Do you guys think I should continue to pay 29% commission or should I bring it down? Also, what is pretty standard to pay a commission Sewer specialist that sells only UnderGround. Very interested in what you guys have to say. Thank you again for your input.

Great questions here, in my experience for technicians selling big jobs like sewers or underground work anywhere between 5% to 10% commission on a sliding scale works well. This is based on gross and you can set the scale a couple of ways. You can do a total revenue sold model to push total sales or a profit margin based scale. Easiest is total sold per week. Also it’s always best to have guys dedicated to just sewers and underground repair/replacement and not doing drain cleans and the camera inspections. I’d love to look at how your 29% commission breaks down after the truck fee and see if there might be a better way. All about the 3 Wins. Customer Wins, Technician wins and company wins.
Role Playing is VITAL
Ok guys I'm not talking about the freaky type of role playing come on I'm talking about getting in there every single day in the training room, and getting reps in. Why would you wait to mess up and practice when you're sitting with a customer? Like how does that make any sense. Doesn't it make so much more sense to practice with your teammates? People that want to see you win? See you succeed? Let's get training EVERY SINGLE DAY. And if you're not doing this. Holy Hell please start yesterday

we should never practice on our customers. we should be ready to go before we arrive. you are either Trained or Untrained.
HOW WAS THANKSGIVING
I spent a few days in San Diego with the family. So many things to be grateful for this year, God, Family, an amazing team, mentors, and all of you. Guys as we move to the end of the year, keep that spirit of gratitude. So many of you are in here because you want to improve. What a blessing to be in a position to have something you're building. There's so much that can stress you out day to day, gratitude for everything you have will be the quickest remedy to that. Be Grateful, and don't stop

Ben Helped me Transform my Life
Quick intro, I’m Austin Avellar, and I run a plumbing, hvac and electrical company in Phoenix! We are just going to be completing our first year. Ben Jordan has been Mentoring me for a while now and has helped me transform my life in many ways! Over the last year that he has been coaching me I was able to lose over 100lbs, still haven’t hit my goal but I was 400lbs and now I’m down to 295lbs as of this morning. That alone was worth its weight in gold and Ben knew that before I could blow up my plumbing company I had to become the man. My mindset has completely changed and it has blessed my life and my family’s life tremendously! I wouldn’t be where I am at today without the mentorship from Ben Jordan. Love you Bro! So excited to be apart of the group! Become the Man and the Money will follow!
Up Your Value, Or Lower Your Price
Guys, sales isn't that complicated. If you're constantly having to lower your price, you have a value problem. The crazy part is people think they need to make their product better to be able to sell more value. Really though what you need to get good at is helping people see the value in what you're offering. Become a story teller. Actually listen to what people say, use that to show them how your service will give them massive value. The better I got at this, the less I had to lower my price

We should price our jobs according to the value we provide. the mroe problems we can solve the more a project will cost.
