@Emanuel Schi haven’t thought about that 🤔. But you must do what is good for you. Maybe your detective has the answer.
Help me shape our future: Rebranding "The Photography Club"?
Hey everyone! As most of you know, I’ve been doing some reflecting on our community lately. While I love the simplicity of "The Photography Club," I’ve realized that it sounds a bit generic and doesn't really reflect the deep, intentional work we do here. Early members might remember that this name was chosen just one hour before launch, because a lawyer told me that I could not use the name "The Photography University." 😅 But we do way more than just talk about shutter speed and aperture on our live calls. We dive deep into emotions, color psychology, and the "why" behind the photos. As we discussed in our last workshop, editing actually starts with the way you see and compose a photo before you even press the shutter. To make us stand out (and be easier to find in search!), I’m thinking about a name that captures this philosophy. My current favorite is: The Art of Seeing (AOS). I feel this name better represents our journey of asking the right questions before we edit—focusing on the emotion we want to convey and what truly matters in a frame. What do you think? Please vote below! I really value your input—this club/community is for all of us, and I want the name to feel like home for your creative journey. 📸

@Emanuel Schi For me i look at the value of participating. I am not one of the first 50, so i think very carefully about where i invest not only money but most importantly time. I will be honest, the amount of members on level one 80%🫣 and two have not been attended to. It’s your responsibility to get them on board. The main reason for me not becoming a paid member is because i don’t like the approach to giving feedback on images. I would not like my images changed in any way during a meeting. Cropping, color editing or any other kind of things to alter it. I think reflecting on an image can be enjoyed and be a learning opportunity. The Question i ask: Why this group? What makes it different or unique?

@Emanuel Schi What do you mean by Artistic Reflection? For ME it’s an artist's (my) deliberate and critical examination of their OWN creative work, its underlying motivations, methodologies, and outcomes. e.g. A statement I would write about my work in a gallery.
Assignment #8: The Dark Tower
High above the sprawling, low-rise labyrinth of Bangkok metropolis, a dark lone tower breaks the horizon. A visual diary of its presence. A series of quiet, moody encounters with the neighbours it overlooks. Through man-made polluted haze and shifting light, the tower stands constrained but defiant, weaving a different story with every neighbouring building it touches. An exercise in controlled chaos—minimalism born from the spirit of Fan Ho

The 3 words Monolithic — Ominous — Isolated - the architectural dominance (monolithic) - the storm-driven atmosphere (ominous) - the emotional distance and solitude (isolated)

Livecall recording 22.2.2026 - Assignment #6 and Talk
Today we had a lovely chat, about the photos of the last Assignment with the theme "Minimalism" and after that we had an amazing chat with @Lorenzo Zanna and @David Blacher about the diffrence between analog and digital pictures. It felt like a little podcast and is definitly worth a listen :)
