Cognition, Communication, Winner Effect, Upward spiral
Learned some fascinating stuff from Owen Cook on youtube. TLDR: Communication & cognitive function are directly related. If you improve communication ability, you boost cognition, enhance winner effect, and put your life into "upward spiral". Practical Exercises: 1) Projection Exercise: Say Ayyy as loudly as you can. Project as loudly as you can without effort. Your brain caps your projection ability based on relative status and safety in group because we don't want to be killed by alpha. 2) Free association exercise: Rapidly say random words of different categories that aren't from your environment in front of you. Example: Bill gates, tesla, internet, microphone. space, McDonalds. The idea: Unlock winner effect, upregulate your neurotransmitters, unlock creative genius/lateral thinking. Fixing your cognitive state and presence will let the desired behaviors and dominance happen naturally.

@Sanders Gg 100%, I'd choose lifting & martial arts over these vocal exercises. I haven't found lifting to give me as much of a boost to my confidence and presence as of late tho.

@Steven Burkett Any good takeaways from his bioenergetics content?
[BOOK REC] Feel The Fear Do It Anyway
Not often I reread a book, so it's odd and I think a testament that i felt compelled to immediately reread this one. For those suffering from inaction (apathy, fear, whateve), this helps identify your blocks and challenge them head on. Old but still highly relevant imo

@William Radell "My parents raised me to non-assertive (people pleaser) and having a controlling mom and emotionally absent father." I have the same dynamic with my parents.
Instagram photos and what the research tells us.
Fascinating research on the types of photos people are more receptive to: luxury vacations vs. luxury goods. In my opinion, this supports the types of photos I see in the exemplary Instagram pages on this site and why people are more drawn to to them. https://www.psypost.org/people-who-show-off-luxury-vacations-are-viewed-as-warmer-than-those-who-show-off-luxury-goods/

Flaunting experiences makes you look high-status and warm, while flaunting material goods makes you look high-status but cold. Experiences suggest identity, passion, and connection. (Prestige status) Material goods suggest status-seeking or dominance. (Dominance status)

The Status Game by Will Storr talked about how there are 3 types of status: Dominance, Competence, and Virtue status. Dominance status is based on power/control. Competence status is based on symbols of success, talent, and achievement. Virtue status is based on morality, ethics, being holier than thou.
