The biggest mistake beginners make in the gym ❌🙅🏻‍♂️
I'll keep this simple because it needs to be said. The biggest mistake isn't bad form. It's not skipping leg day. It's not even ego lifting (although… stop doing that). The biggest mistake is program hopping 🙅🏻‍♂️ Week 1: "I'm doing push pull legs." Week 3: "Actually I saw this influencer doing upper lower so I'm switching." Week 5: "Bro science says full body is better so I'm doing that now." Week 8: "Why am I not seeing results?" Sound familiar? Your body needs consistency to adapt. You can't test a program in 2 weeks. That's not how muscle works. That's not how strength works. You need to commit to one structured plan, trust the process, and ride it out for 8–12 weeks minimum. The people who get results aren't doing anything magical. They just stuck with one thing long enough for it to actually work. I'm building something right now that's going to take this decision completely off your plate. One system. Clear progressions. No guesswork. You'll hear about it real soon. 😏 👉👉👉Comment "READY" if you've been guilty of this.

Amazing post Darren! I think going to the gym for the first time without proper guidance can be incredibly overwhelming. There are tons of people who look like they know exactly what they’re doing, while you’re just standing there unsure. I recommend anyone starting out to have a clear and structured plan to avoid that feeling. It was exactly like that for me 10 years ago when I first started.
No more confusion on what to eat for fat loss! 💪
When in doubt: build the PERFECT PLATE ✅ These are the meals I build for my daughter. A good balance of: - protein - green veggies - starchy carbs - fibrous and nutrient-dense fruits - rice when she feels like it In my humble opinion: we adults should be eating the same way as our children, just smaller portions! (Most of the time) Don't get me wrong -- she doesn't clean the plate EVERY meal. But we've implemented a few key strategies that helps her eat her full meals rather than snacking throughout the day. Would you eat these meals? 😄

You can’t get it wrong if you prioritize protein, veggies, fruits, and healthy carbs. That’s the recipe for longevity. 🙂

Reaching the daily protein target with fresh foods, cutting on the whey right now...
Dumping some thoughts on you guys 🤜🤛
Hey team, just wanted to drop a few thoughts on nutrition that have been on my mind: - eating well doesn’t mean being miserable or cutting out everything you love — that mindset usually backfires anyway - you don’t need to track every single calorie to make progress. Learning what a solid plate looks like goes a long way too - the foods you grew up with, the stuff your family makes, that’s not the problem. You can absolutely include those and still hit your goals - weekends don’t need to be a totally different thing from the rest of your week. Keeping things roughly consistent matters more than being perfect Monday to Friday then going off the rails - if nutrition feels confusing right now that’s normal. It gets simpler once you stop overcomplicating it - small stuff adds up. one better lunch here, a bit more protein there. that’s how it actually works long term this is what we’re here for. So, if you’re stuck on any of this just ask❤️💪

Hi Darren, thanks for sharing your insight! For years I’ve kept my nutrition centered around the foods I genuinely enjoy and simply balanced everything around that, my workouts, moderation with alcohol and sugar, and overall lifestyle. As you said, we all still have to live and enjoy life. 😄 With that mindset, I’ve had no problem maintaining my shape. Personally, I’m very much against strict and extreme diets. Consistency and balance almost always win in the long run. As explained in Atomic Habits, "small consistent improvements compound over time and lead to lasting results". God bless you all! AJ

When I realized that training hard 6 days a week and staying disciplined with my lifestyle meant I didn’t need to follow a restrictive diet. 🙂👍
