December 22/ 23 - movement accountability
Last night I taught a restorative yoga class before the holiday craziness. Glad I did bc we did Christmas morning today and that always brings up a bunch of emotional nonsense. It was such a good class, slow and breath oriented, just making space in our bodies for the next week where we won’t have much space for ourselves. Kiddos went to dads after gifts this afternoon and I had a whole lot of negative energy to shake off. The gym is such a tool for my emotions. Instead of punching someone I go and make myself sweat - or spend 50 minutes in child’s pose.. or both. Today was a little bit of everything, and I will post a video of a wall sit variation and some single Leg standing drills - yes I do these so often bc of my hypermobility and pain / instability and you should too! Also hit some light deadlifts (40lb), medium deadlifts(70lb) and some free standing wall Balls

Macros are good for my goals and it’s filling with just a couple handfuls! Fat is not bad. I want to make sure everyone gets that! The difference is saturated vs. not. Avocados and nuts are fat, but good and satiating - lasting longer than carbs and don’t trigger the blood sugar spikes that make you keep going back to carbs! Fat is your friend. 1/4 cups gives 11g fat (only 1 of which is saturated) 12g carbs but 2 fiber (making it 10) 5g protein

Christmas - what have you noticed?
On Tirz, I don’t have NEARLY the sweet tooth I once had, which is great but also, kind of takes the fun away from Christmas when I am so much more aware that my kids & I don’t need all the sugar to celebrate. In many ways, the moderation I’ve learned from my glp-1 journey has seeped into other areas where moderation is needed. I didn’t go overboard on gifts this year - shopping was crazy bc every item I picked up was like 40-60% higher than I remember it being last year and I just couldn’t justify spending on a bunch of junk they may never even use (we have gifts from last year that were not touched 🫣) I also don’t drink, but I can see how glp-1 make that less appealing as well. Any other things you’ve noticed this year? I hope that you and yours have a nice break and I hope you get some time to yourself! I just booked a massage for myself to relax when the kiddos go to dads for celebrations! Also don’t forget yoga tonight at 6pm at the Strength Warehouse 💪🏻

Christmas - what have you noticed?
Food, don’t over complicate it.
Tonight for a meal I had a discounted crab cake from the Kroger seafood section and a bowl of Special K Fruit & Yogurt cereal. (I like it, I know it’s not really that good for me… ) I just thought I’d share that meals don’t have to be an entree and two sides. As long as your satiated, who cares if it was two random things out the fridge 🤷🏼‍♀️😂
