The scene every salesman and marketer needs to see.
Heads up - upcoming group call
Hey everyone Ive just uploaded our first call for the group, which you can hopefully now see within the Calendar. Im going to start doing these earlier in the day in order to 1) reduce the group calls down to one call a week 2) increase the attendance rates per call. Attendance has been quite low on these calls, hence the decision. We'll test the new time initially to see how it works out. Also, all future calls will be held within Skool, which means you no longer have to watch out for emails or join Zoom. This should be a LOT easier for everyone. I tested this out recently with @Shanley O'Connor and @Ben Dudek and it was really easy. From what I understand, everyone should get a reminder a day before the calls are held. You can also add the calls to your own calendars which should be useful. Ill be uploading more calls etc over the next week or so. Thanks guys 🙂

Training Update: Module 3 (Positioning) Release
Hey everyone, I wanted to give you a quick update on the new training I’m currently working on and, in particular, Module 3: Positioning. First — I want to apologise for the delay. I know many of you are waiting for this, and I genuinely appreciate your patience. The reason it’s taken longer than expected is simple: this module is a tremendous amount of work, and I’m being very intentional about how it’s built. Positioning is foundational. If it’s rushed, half-assed, or full of gaps, it creates confusion later on — which leads to more problems, more support requests, and ultimately worse results for you. I’d rather take the time now to do this properly than push something out quickly that causes friction down the track. The goal with this training is clarity, structure, and momentum — not patching holes after the fact. That means tighter explanations, better sequencing, and removing ambiguity wherever possible so you can actually apply this stuff with confidence. The good news: Module 3: Positioning will be released next week. It’s coming together really well, and I’m confident it’ll be worth the wait. Thanks again for your patience and understanding. I’m putting the work in because I want this to genuinely help you get better results — not just tick a box and move on. More soon. — John

Love everything you said. We'll get it when it's ready.
If You Want 2026 to Be Different, Read This
Alright, given it’s a new year, I want to share what I think everyone in here should be doing right now — not theory, not motivation… just practical stuff that you action right now. The objective is simple - reduce the noise, make more by doing less. You want to INCREASE income, and DECREASE outgoings. You should also be thinking about decluttering - everywhere. Your agency, your team, your client base, mentally - everywhere. It's time to clean up the mess and get serious about kicking ass in 2026 - no excuses. 1. Cost reduction – do a proper audit The first thing I’d be doing is a full audit of every single expense. Software, subscriptions, freelancers, contractors, random tools you signed up for “temporarily” and never cancelled. A lot of you will be bleeding cash everywhere through small monthly expenses that don’t feel expensive, but add up fast. Ask yourself: - Do I actually use this? - Is this going to help me reach my goal, or is this purely a distraction? - Does this directly help me acquire clients and make money? If the answer is “probably not needed,” cut it. Cleaner expenses = cleaner margins = less pressure. Once you have done this - share just how much money you've saved yourself below. I have just spent the past 3 weeks doing this and saved over $3k in outgoings. Most of it was absolute bullshit - $20 here, $90 there. Get rid of it! 2. Service reduction – you don't need 35 different services! Most agencies think growth comes from adding "more stuff". In reality, all that's doing is causing stress, complexity and chaos. Go through your services and identify anything that: - Takes a lot of time to deliver - Is hard to standardise - Requires constant hand-holding - Generates low profit relative to effort These services are keeping you stuck - get rid of them! Removing one high-effort, low-return service often has a bigger impact than adding a new one. Less complexity = better delivery and better margins. Most of you could be doing $1M a year with just ONE service offering.

This is all SO true! I started this about 90 days ago. Saving somewhere around $1k a month. I may even cancel my business credit card, get a new one, and watch everything that tries to hit. As far as being interrupted by notifications, I turned almost all of them off 10+ years ago. They were so disruptive. Never been disappointed with that decision. 2026…LET’S GO! 👍🏻

@John Romaine For sure. The ones I hate the most are the annual things that I forget about and then out of nowhere …B Boom! $300 or $400 or more hit that I don’t even remember and I don’t even use.
Desperate poor fit prospects
Hey guys, I want to take a moment to share some thoughts with you all, as a reminder - don't start 2026 off by being overly agreeable and trying to accommodate desperate poor fit prospects. Just in the past few days, I've received several emails - "John, is there any chance you could do it a bit cheaper?" "John, I can't afford it all up front, can you split the payments up over 12 months?" "John, what if you use me as a case study instead of taking payment?" My advice - push back, ignore, say no. The fastest way to struggle for another year is trying to save everyone else’s business while slowly destroying your own.
