Osteosarcoma in our beloved maltese-poodle Boone
So for the past 15 months I’ve been studying alternatives for a lifelong friend with Stage 4 colon cancer. Last week we confirmed our 12 yr malti-poo has bone cancer on his skull above his eye. Well all this prior study on FenBen and metabolic therapy has already been in use for dogs as pet owners adapted the Joe Tippens protocol, and added nutritional supplements for immune support (eg turkey tail mushrooms, etc), and metabolic strategies. So off I go on a journey to transition Boone to ketogenic diet, and FenBen (atleast in the short term). My goal right now is to get him stable with the pain from the tumor and confirm if/how much metastasis has occurred (ie lungs, lymph nodes most likely). Then we decide next steps. Chemo is not favored because track record for remission is poor, and I don’t want to put him through that. A vaccine based immunotherapy clinical trial exists that’s of strong interest but we have to get any metastatic spread under control to be eligible. ———— So that’s the backstory of this past week. This morning I’m reading a research paper about Ketone supplementation. I didn’t even know such product commercially existed. I understand so many of you trying metabolic therapy struggle to get GKI into the target range. I haven’t fully comprehended the conclusions, but it does seem the researchers found benefit for ketone supplementation in the in-vivo mice study. This paper was co-authored by Thomas Seyfried in 2014. Does anyone know if he later determined the results of ketone supplementation was not effective? https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ijc.28809

Update - disease progression for the first time
Hi warriors! 👋 I have disease progression for the first time since initial diagnosis in June 2023. During the past 5 months I stopped HBOT and drugs from the ReDO protocol. I feel strongly vindicated by this result (albeit a setback) and affirmed that my research, inferences, learnings and previous strategies had me on the right track. This is because I now have strong evidence that the repurposed drugs I selected (based on drug sensitivity testing and oncogene analysis) in conjunction with a fatty meat-based ketogenic diet, HBOT, nutraceuticals etc. works. I think people also need to be warned that there’s lots of “natural healing” crap on social media that isn’t genuine in the context of cancer care - the natural elements are often overstated and used as clickbait and the influencers hide the fact they actually also used SOC (chemo, radiation, immunotherapy and/or surgery) to resolve cancer. It’s only after reaching NED status that they start promoting adjuncts as if they are a stand-alone solution and this is dangerous and deceptive. Yes, I declined SOC and still don’t want radiation, colostomy surgery or intravenous chemotherapy. But everything I have done is backed by scientific literature - I’m not blessing celery juice under a full moon and singing kumbyaya! Clearly, my attempt at “healing” did not work! Stopping the strategies in my previous protocol and eliminating pharmaceuticals did NOT heal my gut. Eating more vegetables for polyphenols and eating less animal protein did not work for me (and I don’t care about all the pro-fibre propaganda - it’s nonsensical to promote eating copious amounts of indigestible plant matter when you have an inflamed colon, compromised permeability, dysbiosis and an ulcerative bleeding tumour!). Just like that after over two and a half years of stability (no growth) and/or results of gradual tumour size reduction, getting closer and closer to NED status … and BOOM: the tumour doubled in size when I followed more “mainstream” medical advice! 💥 The recent PET scan indicates there is 4cm of high avidity in the tumour microenvironment (confirmed by MRI measurements of 20x17x36) so shrimpy boy (my name for the tumour as it literally looks like a mangled bleeding prawn) is certainly still gobbling up glucose! 🤣🍤

Well done 👏
The Long Summer and now it's fall.
It's official. I made it 22 months progression free with several of those being NED. I have lived past my prognosis. Our son returned safely from Iraq. Each month brings more tasks completed at the farm. My tumor markers are going up. I do have progression in L5, T3 and T4 and now in my left hip. My hemoglobin dropped to levels requiring transfusion. 2 very serious hypoglycemia events. Looks like an upper GI and colonoscopy are in my future as the debilitating fatigue continues. I have seen the heart doctor. He seems most of my symptoms are related to anemia and possible blood loss. He cleared me for anesthesia and will do a heart ultrasound next week. I also see the GI doctor next week. I did have 1 dose of Zoledronic Acid. I suspect will do at least 2 maybe 3 more rounds. I have had a bone scan. No results but based on how I feel, I would not be surprised to learn there is more cancer activity. I was almost convinced to start Keytruda but it doesn't make sense for me. I do not have PDL-1 markers for efficacy and it's only 20% effective. Troldevy may be a possibility and radiation is still on the table as a palliative care and pain management option. It's fall break here in Texas so we are heading to the farm tomorrow. It's always good to get out of the city. Love and healing to you all.

Kimberly, only seen your update today. I know this bump in the road feels hard and I still believe in everything you’re doing and in the power of your body to keep healing. You’ve already done incredible things these past 22 months. Keep trusting the process and your intuition 💫 I’m holding you close and sending every bit of love and light your way 💖
Update - microbiome testing & book 💩📕
Hi warriors! 🥰 I just wanted to share two updates: 1. I wrote an entire book on my cancer journey in 10 days thanks to the power of intense ketosis evoked by fasting, as well as daily meditation, gratitude and manifestation practices. Professor Seyfried’s college Dr Thomas Duraj wrote the foreword for it, which blew my mind. The reason I’m sharing this is not because I want people to buy my book, but to highlight the power of ketosis and meditation. We don’t need to be in perfect states of health and procrastinate our goals - we just need to take the first few steps, build momentum and reset dopamine receptors to make shit happen. I put off publishing it and sat on the final draft for a long time. Then when my ketones were SO high that they were no longer measurable on my KetoMojo, I leaped out of bed at 3am one morning. I gave myself 10 minutes to set up a simple landing page on Stan Store and uploaded the PDF. I let go of all the self-depreciation and OCD bullshit. If I can do it, anyone can do it. So whatever your “it” is - just fucking do it! 💪 💕 2. I did a microbiome test and found out I have a lot of bio-markers indicating gut issues. There is actually a network of naturopaths who work quietly in the integrative oncology space. I urge everyone living with cancer to do a test and get a GI map. My friend who interpreted the results referred me to another naturopath who takes on special cases - she had colorectal cancer and went from a vegan diet to meat-based. Currently there’s a lot of work being done on fecal microbiota transplant (FMT). It sounds gross and extreme, but it’s reversing many metabolic diseases. I didn’t know that most immune cells are in the gut and that dysbiosis and inflammation damages the epithelial cells and this probably leads to cancer (or at least has in my case). It’s so fucking obvious but I just didn’t take gut health that seriously. Interestingly some of my inflammation markers and the overpopulation of specific immune microbes (e.g. macrophages and neutrophils) show my T-cells are fighting the cancer - I haven’t fully destroyed them with all the drugs I take. Moving forward, I’m taking a chance and stopping ALL drugs and changing from a cytotoxic strategy to a healing strategy with the following goals:
