Post Your Breath Hold (Week 14: Mar 30h - Apr 6th)
The Breath Hold Challenge is not about pushing yourself. Wait, what? If you stick around for a few days, you learn that to hold longer, you don't push. You go into a state of relaxation. And forget about the world around you. Yes, I get it. When your diaphragm is jolting up and down. You are not relaxed. Stig has a secret hack to activate the Vagus nerve. One that he has used in preparation for his Guinness world records. Watch the video ๐Ÿ‘‡

last couple of weeks were horrible! and it actually showed very much on my breath holds (came back to the challenge after a few days): zero dive 00:38 day 3, max dive: 01:08:46 day 4: upon doing the 4th, max dive i started contracting and mildly panicking at 00:29 (this day was after a couple of very stressful events), even though the third hold was 01:04:00 day 5 (today): first two "ground dives" were 00:42 and 00:54, then i added an iced cold wet washcloth over my face and the holds were 00:46 and 00:52 i was still stressed this morning after the last couple of weeks but i did much better than on day 4. however, i tracked my HR and - having tachycardia - was amazed at how during the first dolphin dive my HR went from 78 to 56 within seconds - and i didn't even notice it, or how the time was passing! i have never had my HR be so low while i'm awake in my life, as far as i know. it's wonderful! i have to say, the sensation of a cold washcloth over my entire face, chest and ears was very pleasant when breathholding, although slightly uncomfortable as well, but the complete darkness that the washcloth provided helped me ease into the breath hold much better. excited to see how this all plays out once i'm calmer:)

zero dive started with 38s having PTSD and a panic disorder day 2: 00:46:00 & 00:45:86 day 3: 00:54:10 01:05:18 01:08:49 i think i accidentally pushed just a tad too hard on the third one, but surprisingly the second one was very comfortable and even pleasurable. it felt like sinking deeper into my bones, listening to the sounds outside, soft bubble encapsulating my body. very unique experience. although difficult to just relax and let it wash over me! nethertheless, very proud of these holds, surprised about almost doubling the result in three days without much pressure
