We made this fun tool to discover random Skool communities and members. https://dice.skool.com It's not an "official feature", just something we made internally and thought we'd share 🙂. Try it and see what you think.

This is good. It would be nice to have the ability to search for communities as well.
How do I see the email addresses of members? I was thinking a few months ago it was on their profile page but I don't see them now.

@Robert Charles I'm not seeing their email address
Somebody made a public group called "Chat GPT Users". A member of the group created a post with the title "Prompt Generator". Google ranked the post #2 for the keyword: "Chat GPT prompt generator". That single post is generating thousands of unique visitors to the group. Pretty cool.

@Kyri Nahlis Precisely. We all benefit from the domain authority of Skool.

About 9 years ago I bought one of the top 100k most powerful domains on the internet, at the time. I could create web pages with random long-tail keywords, get them indexed in Google with literally zero content, and they would rank instantly. Thanks to Sam registering this domain and the power it has with the existing links pointing to it, any group owner can benefit from this. Skool group owners that have public groups, who perform accurate keyword research, and who also check the domain authority of the competition for those keywords to make sure they have the ability to outrank them, can create a lot of free traffic to their group.
Thank you for the app. I keep only relevant notifications on for my phone, specifically badges, so that if I see a new badge notification, there's something that needs my attention. I've noticed the Skool app displays those notifications accurately according to the last time I opened the app, but not in "real time". If I clear all of them from desktop browser, then I have to go back and open the app and let it update. I'd like to request that those number of notifications are synced so that it's not necessary to always have to go back and open the app just to reflect the accurate number of notifications.

@Sam Ovens Since I'm actively working from my laptop browser and my phone, similarly with applications like Trello, it's nice to have the notifications synced. Otherwise, I'm still seeing a badge that I had already cleared out from my browser that is still showing on my phone.
Hey team! We just added some new gamification features. The idea is to surface and reward the people who add the most value by helping others. Here's how it works: • Points — whenever somebody likes your post/comment, you get 1-point. • Levels — your level will show as a blue dot with a number in it on your avatar and profile. As you get more points, you start to level up. • Leaderboards — the members who gained the most points in the last 7-days, 30-days, and all-time will show on the leaderboards tab here. • Gems — group admins can award "gems" to posts/comments that are of exceptional quality. Awarding a gem makes the post/comment stand out so others are more likely to see it and users can use the "Gems" filter to find admin curated highlights from the community. • Prizes — with these new features you can offer prizes to members that appear in the top 10 to reward top contributors and incentivize the right behavior. This isn't a "feature", but something we've noticed works well in other communities. We recommend offering prizes in your community! Let the games begin!

Thank you for adding this to all skool groups! I believe this will genuinely help with engagement. And for this post. Gonna copy/paste into my group :)
Imagine this: Somebody posts some questionable content in your group. You've got two options: 1. Delete the post (and offend the poster), or, 2. Keep the post (and ruin the quality of your group) Both options suck. So we created a third option — making the post visible to admins only. All you need to do is change the post's category to "Admins only." It will disappear from the group but still be accessible to the original poster and the group admins. This way, the poster doesn't freak out when they can't find their post, and the group quality doesn't suffer. Both sides win. Not only that, but the poster and the group admins can communicate in the comments after it's been marked as admins only - which is perfect for explaining why the post was deleted. It's a powerful feature that can be used in many different ways. Watch the video to see it in action. Enjoy!

Very good idea. Thanks for adding.
My teams group has a TON of posts and comments that would crush in organic SEO since it’s very niche specific and not abundant on the web yet. Thought… Our groups organic SEO rankings would lead people to click on it as a result and then see the landing page, see that it’s paid, then opt in to signup? May be a dumb question but the light bulb just clicked for me.

Yes, totally. Your group is ranking #14 for the keyword "fingerprinting classes". That kw has a monthly volume of 260. You could do some kw research and find other kw's that you could then target with specific posts in your group. The main thing with SEO is the power of the domain, and the links pointing to the specific page you’re wanting to rank. Skool’s domain authority according to ahrefs is 67, which is very powerful. Each and every Skool admin inherits that authority (thanks for purchasing a powerful domain Sam). Now you just need to do the kw research to figure out what kw’s you need to target, see if the sites that are ranking on the first page for those kw’s have a higher or lower domain authority than your site (basically if you actually have a chance of outranking them), then target the living hell out of those keywords with epic posts with lots of kw relevant content (not spammy/kw stuffing), and lastly get your members to link to the post from their websites to boost the ranking of that page. Piece of cake :)
I will be creating a new Skool group for hiring and training employees. I want to use gamification for letting them move up in qualifications/training. Also it would be nice if I could test them in some way before moving up in levels. Is anyone currently doing anything like this? If not, do you have any best practices about how to do this?

Introducing two new features for courses: 1. Drip — Now you can drip course content to your members over time. When adding/editing a module, turn drip on, and enter the number of days you want to module to drip after. 2. Course permissions — Now you can give some of your members access to course A, but not course B. When adding/editing a course, set permissions to "All members have access" (default), or "Only some members have access". To give specific members access, find the member from the member's list, click the "..." menu, click "Manage access", and select the course from there. These were two of the most requested features we've had, so I hope you guys like them! Check it out and let us know what you think. Enjoy!

Love this. Thanks for sharing.
Is it possible to make Vimeo private links to work inside Skool? The same links are working fine with other apps like for example "Notion". I can embed private links in Notion without any problems.

I’m very interested in this as well. I’m currently using unlisted youtube but someone could easily share them. @Hubert Pierzchalo are vimeo “private links” for paid plans? I don’t see a setting for this in my free plan

Thanks for this reminder post.
Hey Guys, I switched to skool 2 months ago in the hope that I will have a more engaged & interactive community. But it’s not going as planned. Even my fb group was more engaged than the skool community. I don’t know why? Even if we are giving books as rewards + I’m sharing some valuable content too but still don’t know what’s happening. I’m personally loving this platform & was so much excited to launch but my clients are not much excited about it. When we took a feedback from them, they don’t feel anything special about it. @Sam Ovens @Sid Sahasrabuddhe @Nick Hauser Please suggest me some way to re-activate my community & boost the engagement.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe Homerun!!!
@Sid Sahasrabuddhe Posted this in Uplevel, but wanted to share here as a feature request. The day after I posted this, I sold a client on a 6 month membership to my program/community access/support, and lifetime access to videos, so it would be awesome if the below were implemented 🙏 After thinking about the Wetube announcementyesterday, reading through the comments and mostly understanding the direction things seem to be headed, it seems like the following would be helpful in orienting the Skool platform towards those goals: 1. Having the ability to remove the Community, Calendar, & Leaderboard tabs from a user's permissions. This would allow for someone to have access to the course material (for possible low ticket content-only access, or as continued access to Classroom but removal from the Community section after a set amount of time) for life, without adding to the overall community group numbers. Similar to Clickfunnels membership funnels. Also, if someone wanted full access it could be turned back on (an upgrade fee). Doing this would solve a lot of the growth problems. 2. Having the ability when adding a member, to set an automatic removal date (from Skool altogether, or only from the 3 above-mentioned sections), so that reminders wouldn't have to be set to remove members at certain times, based on what "full program access" timeframe was offered (3 months, 6 months, 1 year, etc)

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe 1 person. I had 3 calls with him and he would never commit to the $4,400, even splitting it up into 2 or 3 pay. After the Wetube announcement I had some ideas about trying some new things. I sent him and a few others messages about being able to offer a discounted price, and offered 6 months of full access and lifetime access to the videos for $2,100 and he bought immediately full pay.

Is it currently possible to restrict access to courses only to specific members or groups of members? Or would that require having a second skool?

+1 on this. So hard to find good t-shirts. Would love to have my domain on it as well.
A couple of my skool members say that they would like the ability to save posts as "read later", or to mark them as new.

Thanks so much for this and the continual improvements!
I tried searching this in the group but couldn’t find anything about it. I have two pinned post for my group but I am wanting to hide them so I don’t have to scroll through them every day multiple times per day. Yet, I don’t want to miss any comments/notifications on the pinned posts. If I hide those, will I still get notifications about any new comments? If not, I would like to request that that be added.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe 🤩
Would it be possible to add support for videos to be shared directly from Google Drive? It would be super convenient since we're already using Google Drive to store our content. We could set them to publicly viewable like this one: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FQAxMr2VLm3uZcI1Y4Sjcr2kXt_lZZts/view?usp=sharing It seems like this could possibly also solve the problem of having them private and not be able to be opened outside of Skool.

Thanks for sharing. Going to post in my skool group :)
The Sentinel in me is humbly asking for the ability to filter posts by date, or by the last 30/60/90 days. This would solve the problem of not seeing the thousands of old posts. I also ask to be able to hide any post instead of just pinned posts. This would allow for way more efficiency because the majority of posts that are at the top of my feed are regurgitations of posts with new comments, of which the majority I didn't comment on and don't need to see. By doing these things I would have the ability to drastically clean up everything and make it to "post/notification zero" daily! As well as saving a lot of useless scrolling and being able to effectively help more people! Nirvana!

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe Sorting by Newest post does help with not seeing recent activity, so that is my preferred way to sort. This actually brings up another feature request I forgot to mention. It would be nice to be able to choose a default way to sort, so I wouldn't have to change it every time.

@Sid Sahasrabuddhe You the man!
I do miss saved folders, but I'm not not going to ask you to bring them back :) I have been using the Watch feature to keep up with things that I find interesting/I might need later, but by doing this it is causing a problem: increased notifications, and the potential for a linear growth of notification frequency. One of the things I love about skool is the efficiency of notifications. Having the ability to turn off notifications for likes was very important to me. My job is to clear out that red number daily, but if that red number is showing me things that I don't want to see (comments on posts that I only am watching for the possibility that I may need to know the content of the original post), then my efficiency in skool is decreasing over time. It may seem illogical (and even impossible) to "turn off notifications for watched posts", but being that saved folders are doomed, this is a possible solution to the notification monster that is creeping back into my life. For the time being, I'm now going back on my saved (watching posts) and taking screenshots of the post and saving the pictures and titling the pictures by the content of the post. If this is my fate, so be it, but I couldn't help by at least request this.

@Nick Guadagnoli Ah I like it, haven't thought about that. I like that better than my swipe file.
I do like the % completion rate that is shown for each user, but it would be nice if in addition to that there was a graph that showed exactly what videos the user had watched. I could quickly glance and see how far along they were rather than having to remember how many total videos I have and do the math to see where exactly how far along they are each time.

Hey team, today we shipped two new features: Polls — Now you can create polls in your group so members can vote on different options. This is a great way to get feedback and better understand your community. (See an example below). Email broadcast to members — Now group admins have the option to email broadcast new posts to all members of their group. The email sends immediately and it looks like a professional email newsletter. This is perfect for keeping your members updated and building engagement. Let us know what you think about these new features in this poll:

Thank you for Skool. It's perfect for what I need and everyone in my group loves it.
There’s been a few times where I’ve tapped to view a notification, realized it was a much more involved question than just a few sentence answer, then later forgot to go back to it and answer. It would be nice to be able to go back and mark it as unread so that I would be sure not to miss it.

@Sam Ovens Damn I didn't even realize that, yes exactly. Is that available from mobile also?
I just noticed today that I can't watch or unwatch any posts. I've tried from mobile and desktop and neither are working.
