✨ Day 17 - Kumbhaka: The Alchemy of the Pause ✨
In yogic science, Kumbhaka is the conscious pause between breaths. It is not an absence - it is a potent space of transformation. When approached skillfully, kumbhaka becomes a powerful form of hormetic stress - a small, intentional stressor that strengthens the system rather than overwhelms it. 🌱 Hormetic Stress - The Sweet Spot Growth does not happen in comfort alone, nor in overwhelm. It happens in the sweet spot between the two. Too little stress and the system stagnates. Too much stress and the system contracts. Kumbhaka invites us into this fertile middle ground - where the body, nervous system, and mind adapt, regulate, and expand their capacity. 🌬 Carbon Dioxide Tolerance & Nervous System Resilience During breath retention and extended exhalation, carbon dioxide levels gently rise in the body. This is not dangerous when practiced correctly - it's empowering . As CO₂ tolerance increases, the nervous system learns: Safety in stillness Calm within intensity Presence without panic Practices like kumbhaka and lengthened exhalation - as in Bhramari Pranayama - train this capacity directly. 🧠 Widening the Window of Tolerance By increasing CO₂ tolerance, we widen our window of tolerance for stress. This means: We react less We recover faster We stay present under pressure What once felt overwhelming becomes workable. What once triggered contraction becomes an invitation to remain. ✨ From Regulation to Bliss When the nervous system is resilient, awareness stabilizes. When awareness stabilizes, Bliss becomes accessible. Not because life is easy - but because you are resourced. Each conscious pause rewires your relationship with stress. Each skillful breath makes Bliss more familiar. 🔹 Your Focus Today Meet kumbhaka with curiosity, not force. Stay within the edge that feels challenging yet safe. Share a reflection of your experience and relationship with kumbhaka, and how it may have changed through this challenge. This is where growth happens. This is where freedom is trained.

@Amanda Freestone lovely! This is the a logical evolution on the Spiritual (subtle) level, especially given what you're experiencing in life right now. A release in the throat can be linked to overcoming trust issues and finding the confidence to express yourself authentically. Day 17
Mōrena fam. The art of acceptance.🙌🏼 It’s beautiful when I allow things to be,no need to change the “good” or “bad”. When that happens things are no longer good or bad they just are. I am so grateful for this! I am grateful for all the abundance of joy and peace in my life I am grateful that I learn something new each day I am grateful for the stillness 🌻🍄✨

Great insight Dee! When we notice a tendency of craving or aversion, it's an opportunity to remind ourselves of the universal law of impermenance (anicca). Whatever arises, will eventually pass. We experience this truth with every breath, movement, thought, sensation and it reminds of how that extends to every experience in our life. This felt sense realisation is liberating and unwinds those samskaras - bringing us back to Bliss 🌎🕉
Day 16 Reflection on Pranayama
In other external breath holds we have covered, it has been a challenge with the external breath hold. The more I practice it in this week's pranayama, the ease comes gradually, and I can meet with the resistance, finding slightly more ease in it each practice. AND Hello again to Baramari Pranayama, HOW BEAUTIFUL is the vibration that this brings, I feel like I'm a 'singing bowl' internally ... as the vibration builds in intensity. Reminding me how much I enjoyed it years ago. It really is a tranquilizing pranayama. 🙏🕉️🌬️

Great to hear the progress you're making! The resistance is an opportunity to meet ourselves and our internal world 🌎 with curiosity and compassion. To witness the potential that lies within us. To realise we can grow more by becoming a curious witness, than we ever will through force. Our power lies here ⚡️
✨ Day 15 - Ananda: Remembering Bliss ✨
In yogic science, Ananda means bliss - not pleasure, not excitement, but a deep, steady sense of joy, peace, and wholeness that arises when we are in alignment with our true nature. Ananda is intimately connected with Samadhi, the state of unified awareness, and with Anandamaya Kosha - the innermost sheath of being, where joy exists beyond effort or condition. 🌸 From Thought to Vibration Bliss is not something we chase. It is something we allow. It moves through stages: A remembering in the mind A softening in the heart A resonance in the body Thought becomes emotion. Emotion becomes vibration. Vibration becomes embodied experience. ✨ Ananda on the Path This week is not about reaching Samadhi or forcing entry into Anandamaya Kosha. Those states unfold naturally through sustained, sincere practice. What is available - right now - are moments of connection. Moments where the breath drops in. Moments where the heart opens. Moments where you feel at home in yourself. These glimpses matter. They guide us. 🌿 Bliss Is Innate Ananda is not added. It is revealed. Through consistent practice and by placing ourselves in environments and experiences that align with our highest self, bliss begins to express itself more often and more freely. When we choose what inspires us, nourishes us, and calls forth our best, we create fertile ground for Ananda to arise. 🪞 Reflection & Sharing Invitation Where do you feel a sense of inspiration and Bliss? A place, an activity, or an environment where your soul feels at home and free to express itself without restraint. 👇 Share with the group if it feels aligned. These reflections remind us what we are moving toward - and what is already here. Bliss is not the destination. It is the thread woven through the journey. Stay Blissed, Adam 🌬️🍃✨

@Amanda Freestone this feels like an expansive, grounding exhale. You're coming home to yourself 🏡🙏
✨ Day 16 - Embodying Bliss, Embracing Life ✨
Take a moment to acknowledge how far you’ve come. Through this journey, you’ve cultivated a deeper trust in intuition, softened into self-love, and learned to include all parts of yourself - the light, the shadow, the known, and the unknown. Now, we turn toward embodying Bliss - not as an idea, but as a lived orientation to life. 🌿 What Embodying Bliss Really Means Embodying Bliss does not mean that nothing difficult will happen. Life will still move, change, and challenge us. What changes is perspective. Bliss gives us the grace of a broader, more wholesome view. From this place, we begin to see experiences as they are, rather than how the ego mind wants them to be. Even the most challenging moments carry gifts when met with truth. ⚖️ The Poles of Experience When we place something on a pedestal, we unconsciously create an aversion to its opposite. When we resist a situation, trait, or event, we negate the wisdom it offers. These tendencies are habit patterns of the mind - samskara formed over time. Bliss allows us to hold both poles. Order within chaos. Blessings within struggle. Lessons within turmoil. This is divine balance. ✨ Bliss as Integration From this perspective, nothing is wasted. Everything becomes fuel for growth, refinement, and awakening. Bliss does not deny reality. It includes it. 🪞 Reflection Invitation Bring to mind one area of your life where you are currently experiencing turmoil. Then gently explore: What is this situation teaching me? What strengths is it developing? What opportunities or clarity are emerging because of it? ✍️ Write a short list of positives, however subtle they may seem. This is not bypassing. This is wisdom in action. Bliss is not found beyond life - it is discovered within it. Stay Blissed, Adam 🌬️🍃✨🤍

@Amanda Freestone this is amazing 👏 Giving yourself the presence to acknowledge, embrace and release that pain and turmoil is vital. As is the skill of using these practices to transmute that energy through thought, emotion and then seeing the vibration become uncovered and then expressed is an embodiment of the Bliss that is our birthright. It really is a testament to you and your resilience and self love to have come to this realization 🌱🕉
