@Grant Hepworth there are no ads on this platform. That’s the main difference

@Evan Gilbert yes - I always see Skool differently because it doesn’t have ads. But ya Skool is probably the Most social Platform
A Moment of Vulnerability to share
I pretty much never do this but I'm here right? I'm an introvert on my best day. It’s easy for me to keep to myself, put my head down, and try to figure things out alone — or not figure them out at all. But I want this experience to be different, so I’m choosing different actions. A few years ago, I had one incredible coach who changed our life and business in a massive way. Then I had a few others who were the opposite. One, honestly, felt like a straight-up con man — and the scars from that run deep. I’ve avoided coaching and connection ever since. I wish I could be more like my toddler, who can go from a meltdown to pure joy in minutes because he doesn’t hang on to things. I’m not there yet… but I’m willing to pretend for now. When I was struggling to pay bills at 5k/month, I thought 20k months would be life-changing. I couldn’t imagine ever spending that much, and I assumed any business bringing in 20k should be wildly profitable. And yet — here I am. We’ve been stuck at 20k for months, and the reality is… we’re not actually making money. Everything goes right back into inventory, overhead, or the next thing I thought we needed. We run a coaching program for women 40+, and we work with manufactures to design supplements for them too. The last couple years have been crazy — fun, chaotic, fast growth — until suddenly they weren’t. I realized we only actually made money when we hit 25–30k months… and I realized that far too late. The hardest part to admit: When we had our biggest revenue months, I was the least happy I’ve ever been. I spent the least amount of time with my family. I slept less. I stressed more. And I told myself I was doing it “for them.” But really it was a giant lie… it was my ego I was fulfilling. I just started diving into Dan’s material behind the paywall, something shifted. I saw similarities in our values and how we live. We homeschool. We have a 3-year-old. My wife is pregnant with our second. Endless organic positing doesn't seem to be doing it anymore.

Dude - thanks for this share. I see you man. I am/was you. It’s takes a courageous heart to build your business with family in tow. also totally had the same experience growing to $20k/m…. That’s why the new standard.. base line… is $50k/m.… Profit not revenue is the real metric. But ya bro - you got this - and opening up and sharing like this is a big part of what will happen be you be successful in our world! LFG
Ad Restriction and Branding Help!
Hey LFG community, I have recently joined the Accelerator program, and in preparation for running ads, I am seeking some support on Meta restrictions for ad content. The work I do is in the field of sexual health & education. The business (and current Skool community name) is called Men's Sexual Mastery. Our content on IG is already under some level of restriction, and I know that our current name and the way we talk about things is not likely to fly with Meta's ad policies. I have thought about re-branding, however, the business is already established, and frankly, my business partner and I love how edgy and direct the name is. So, I am looking for support in how to navigate this process. Curious to hear what y'all think is the best course of action. Change the Skool community name? Finesse the system with strategic language and landing page work arounds? Something else I haven't thought of? Thanks team! 🙏 @Dan Harrison @Alexander VandeLaar @Gabby Domiray

One of the best parts about running a skool community is there are no restrictions about what or how you talk about... and ... you there are an infinite number of hooks you could use to target the same men ... without being explicit or violating terms, in order to get them interested enough to join. the ad only needs to get the click... so you don't need to go full blown sexual mastery guru in the ad... save that for inside the community. Best way to figure this one out is just to test :). but no I don't think you need to change names
Four Days of Doing the Work… Here’s What Smacked Me in the Face
I’ve been in a pretty intense work sprint this week... deep thinking, rebuilding, tearing things apart, putting them back together. Not for a launch… not for a client… just for my own growth. And a few things hit me harder than expected. 1. Clarity is way more uncomfortable than confusion. Confusion feels safe because you don’t have to commit. Clarity forces decisions. And decisions expose whether you’ve been playing small. 2. “One person” is always the right answer... even when you swear you’re different. I thought I was crisp. Turns out I was still hiding behind broad language dressed up as strategy. 3. Every roadmap has an expiration date. The one that got you here usually isn’t the one that gets you where you're going next. Letting go of an old system is weirdly emotional. Just sharing the stuff I’m wrestling with because I know a lot of us are building, refining, or reinventing right now. And honestly… it feels good to grow in public again.
